The term “minimalism” can be a turnoff to those who think that it’s legalistic, restrictive, or requires that you only own a certain amount of stuff. But minimalism has many facets, and it’s a tool that can help you live a more intentional, peaceful life. In this episode I’m joined again by Desirae Endres from the popular podcast Minimal-ish. We chat about how to make minimalism your own, and what she sees are the four pillars of minimalism.

Desirae is a wife, mom to two girls, and the host of the Minimal-ish podcast where she talks about all things realistic minimalism, motherhood, and intentional living. In 2018, Desirae and her husband set out to live with less clutter in their home. Soon she found that the journey to less was about so much more than a clutter-free home.

Desirae believes that a less cluttered life is where the idea of minimalism really makes a difference- a life focused on more of what matters, and less of what doesn‘t. She is passionate about sharing her journey and walking alongside podcast listeners towards a less cluttered, more intentional life.

When we are stressed and overwhelmed, planning is usually the first thing to go by the wayside. But intentional planning doesn’t have to take up a ton of time, and can have incredible benefits! In today’s conversation, I’m talking again with Sarah Horgan from Simple + Intentional about her best tips for intentional planning to combat anxiety and overwhelm. Sarah is a full-time teacher, mom and wife who is passionate about helping women change their lives through decluttering.  After a cancer diagnosis in 2014, she discovered her perfectionism and people pleasing were holding her back and creating a lot of overwhelm. This was also the year she first discovered minimalism and slowly started getting rid of things. Fast forward to 2018 and becoming a mom. The overwhelm forced Sarah to start examining her relationship with stuff and the big purge began. And she hasn't looked back!  Now Sarah helps other moms deal with their clutter, get organized and create systems + routines to make life easier.
