479. How Meditation Helped Heal One Woman’s Cancer

479. How Meditation Helped Heal One Woman’s Cancer

If you’ve been listening to the show lately, you know that I’ve been on this journey with Dr Joe Dispenza for 6 months, doing his meditations daily and integrating his teachings into my life. His work has been life-changing not only for me but for so many. On today’s show you will hear from Evie Jennes, a woman who combined western medicine and Dr Joe’s meditations while on her cancer journey. In her own words Evie writes: “In 2016 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was very fortunate in that it was contained to one breast, my lymph nodes were clean as was the rest of my body. I went through traditional treatment, switched up my diet, and exercise and got my ‘warrior’ on. I pretty much sailed through chemo, had a mastectomy, and had the best result you can get. No cancer in the tissue, no spread of the cancer I was ready to live life. Turn the page. In March 2019 I blew out my back and ended up with herniated desks. After my back got worse and I was in crazy pain a second MRI was taken. Spots were found on my pelvis. Not what you want to hear when you have had breast cancer. After a PET scan I found out it was not only in my pelvis, but my spine, shoulder, collar bone, both legs, both arms and my jaw. This was worse than bad. Stage 4 cancer. I was in shock. I never ever thought it would come back. I knew this time I had to treat more than my body but also my ‘being’. I had missed that the last time around. Within 24 hours of each other friends in Europe and the USA told me about Dr. Joe Dispenza. I watched several interviews and I was sold. I went all in. I was doing “ East meets West” this time around for my treatment. I believe that there are gaps in both. I learned how to meditate, create the future I wanted, and heal myself. There were many ups and downs. I got better. I got worse. There were joys and disappointments. There was celebration and complete devastation. But most of all I learned, I grew, I developed, and in the end I healed myself. I continue to ‘peel the onion’ of life every day. Cancer is the best, worst thing that ever happened to me. Through telling my story, and the work of the InnerScience Research Fund my big hope is that meditation becomes part of the standard of (health)care. It has been, and will continue to be the way I begin and end every day. Oh, and today, all my tumor markers are normal.” This interview is extremely powerful and emotional. If it resonated with you in any way, please share with a friend. Be sure to tune in tomorrow’s episode where you will hear from Kristin Bosteels, another cancer patient who follows Dr Joe’s practices. 29. Game-Changing Cancer Therapy with Dr. Anahid Jewett

29. Game-Changing Cancer Therapy with Dr. Anahid Jewett

Dr. Anahid Jewett is a woman on a mission to find a cure for cancer. She is a Professor and Director of Tumor Immunology Laboratory and she is also a member of the UCLA Tumor Immunology subgroup, among others. For the past 26 years, Dr. Jewett has dedicated her life to figuring out why cancer stem cells (CSCs) are able to survive in patients. She believes the key is to focus on natural killer cells or NK cells, which are known to kill many different types of CSCs, including oral, pancreatic, lung, breast, glioblastoma, and melanoma tumors. To test whether NK cells could help minimize pancreatic cancer tumors, Dr. Jewett and her team developed a humanized mouse model with an intact human immune system. On this episode, she's discussing the available therapies, what her research is showing, and where we are in finding a cure.  To visit and support Dr. Jewett’s “Cure Cancer Now Foundation” at https://www.curecancernowfoundation.org/ Become a member of the Better Together community through Patreon! 27. Raising Domestic Violence Awareness w/ D.A. Summer Stephan

27. Raising Domestic Violence Awareness w/ D.A. Summer Stephan

If you or a loved one is in need of immediate help or support, the national domestic violence hotline is available 24/7 at 1−800−799−7233. We have two special guests on the show today. Both bringing awareness to domestic violence in their own way. Thanks to Purina, Red Rover Org & the Purple leash project, I was able to sit down with a survivor of domestic abuse named Angie. Her and her dogs are safe now, and I know her strength and story will not only move us, but educate us. We also have San Diego District Attorney, Summer Stephan who has devoted her life to protecting women, children and families and providing justice to the voiceless and most vulnerable. She is a national leader in the fight against sexual exploitation and human trafficking and was named Southern California District Attorney of the Year by Crime Victims United. Today, she’s providing us the information we need, what to look out for and how to help. 1 in 3 women experience domestic abuse in their lifetimes and shockingly only 10% of domestic violence shelters allow pets and nearly half of all victims delay leaving because they don't want to leave their pet. This is why Purina and I are taking the lead to help keep domestic abuse victims and their pets together. Purina has committed more than $500,000 through 2022 to RedRover to establish Purple Leash Project grants.
