Linda Laura Hazzard, also known as the "Starvation Doctor" was an American swindler and convicted serial killer noted for her promotion of long term fasting and unethical practices. In 1911, Hazzard was found guilty of manslaughter in the state of Washington. She was sentenced to up to 20 years of hard labor for killing at least 15 people for financial gain. She was released on parole after serving only two years. Later, for unknown reasons, she received a full pardon from Governor Ernest Lister in 1916.
