But, on some occasions, the evidence can be either misinterpreted, ignored, or just flat out not brought into court. Those are the cases where innocent people go to prison and murderers are left free. On February 10th 2004 a man who was, by all accounts a criminal in need of prison time, was scheduled to be executed. However, the evidence in his case was mishandled in a way that has left Kevin Cooper alive and in prison 15 years after he was set to die.
