KANE STAYS IN HOCKEYTOWN AND YZERMAN'S QUIET FREE AGENCY - July 2nd, 2024

Disclaimer: Recorded before the Tarasenko signing & Fabbri trade - more to come on those fronts on Sunday!

The NHL's Free Agent Frenzy was mayhem and Steve Yzerman was...relatively quiet for the Detroit Red Wings (after bringing Showtime back to Hockeytown, of course).

Tune in as we start by discussing the re-signing of Patrick Kane in Detroit, including how the deal came to be, how the bonus structure affects the cap, what this means for the Red Wings forwards including Dylan Larkin, Lucas Raymond, Alex DeBrincat, & others, & lots more (5:30).

Next, an overview on some of the massive deals across the NHL (including Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault, Chandler Stephenson, Jake DeBrusk, Chris Tanev, Brandon Mantour, & so many more) before discussing Detroit's own signings: Cam Talbot, Jack Campbell, Erik Gustafsson, William Lagesson, Christian Fischer, Tyler Motte, & other small deals (11:50). How do they affect the team, replace the offense lost by Shayne Gostisbehere, David Perron, Daniel Sprong, and Jake Walman?

After that, an overall view of "The Yzerplan", Steve Yzerman's path for the team, how the cap space can be used for Lucas Raymond & Moritz Seider contracts or trades for players like Zegras or Necas, & more (50:30).

Then, an update on the Jacob Trouba situation and the trade that may not materialize (1:08:05), Pavel Datsyuk at Red Wings Development camp with the likes of Brandsegg-Nygard, Danielson, Sandin Pellikka, Augustine & others (1:19:56) before we take your questions and comments during our Overtime segment (1:22:00) - enjoy!
