Feel the gentle blades of grass beneath you, supporting and cradling your body. PAUSE… You hear the gentle sound of a nearby stream, The cool water flowing and rippling over rocks and pebbles. Slowly you walk towards it, And step inside. PAUSE… The cool water of the stream slowly washes over your toes, Relaxing and soothing any areas of tension or discomfort. Feel the refreshing water cover your feet and ankles, Relaxing them completely. PAUSE… You step in deeper into the stream, And feel the water cover your legs, Feel it relaxing each muscle with each gentle wave. It soothes you, calms you, And all the tension and stress releases from your legs. LONG PAUSE… You sink a little further into the welcoming water, And can feel it touch your hips and your lower back. Imagine the water gathering all the stress, The worries, The heaviness, And taking it from you as it floats away, Leaving everything submerged within it deeply relaxed. LONG PAUSE… The water feels so soothing, That you easily drop yourself down further, Lowing your belly, chest and arms into it. PAUSE… The welcoming water calms your belly, Softens your heart, And releases any tension in your arms. PAUSE… Listen to the gentle sounds of the stream, Carrying away the day, And holding you in her softness. LONG PAUSE… Gently and briefly, You slowly lower your entire head into the water, And feel as it touches your chin, Your mouth, Your cheeks, Your eyes, And the crown of your head. PAUSE… For just a moment, you feel the water surround you, Cleanse you, And relax you. PAUSE… Your head rises, And you fill your lungs with sweet air, As you lay on your back, And float in the stream. PAUSE… Your entire body is held in love, Saturated with deep relaxation from the water. You might even find it in the rain, Smiling down with rainbow rays.   PAUSE… So choose a direction in your mind, A path you’d like to follow. Grip the wheel and enjoy the view, As you accept nature’s invitation.   LONG PAUSE… As you drive, you long for music, So you turn on the radio. You sing along to your favorite songs, Belting them out louder as you go.   PAUSE… It’s like a celebration, A mobile party just for you. You sway your body as you steer, Your heart soaring as you do.   PAUSE… The warmth of the sun on your shoulders, Only adds to your growing pleasure. It’s as if the light is blessing your trip, Adding joy too great to measure. PAUSE… The farther you go, the warmer you feel, The gentle heat sinks right into your soul. Craving more, you hit the gas, Eager to explore the open road.   PAUSE… Perhaps you see animals grazing, Cows and sheep and goats. They’re soaking up sun like you are, Content to feed on gentle slopes.   PAUSE… Beyond the animals are houses, Tall, welcoming structures in the distance. The sun shines down on their sturdy roofs, Giving its approval to their existence.   PAUSE… Children play in every yard, Their cheerful laughter fills the air. You find yourself grinning along with them, Remembering the joy of life without cares. PAUSE… For a moment, you feel like a kid again, Like every worry has been erased. You’re filled with the hope that sunshine brings, With every bit of darkness replaced.   LONG PAUSE… As you stay the course and keep driving, The landscape changes a bit. The meadows and fields become rolling hills, Small peaks on which the sun can sit.   PAUSE… You have to pull out your sunglasses, As the picture before you starts to glow. You focus on the highway ahead, Eager to see how far you can go.   PAUSE… You start to wonder what waits ahead, If there’s even more light to be found. With the sun as your guide and hope in your heart, The possibilities are profound. PAUSE… The music grows mellow and soothing, Like the sunshine wants you to linger. You slow your pace and take in the vista, Whispering thanks for our brilliant light-bringer. PAUSE… We’re here to make a difference. We’re here to treasure our gifts. We’re here to help and learn and grow, To repair our meaningless rifts.   PAUSE… It’s hard to feel hopeless in the sunshine. Apprehensions tend to shrivel in the light. Shade can be a relief, but not an escape, And truth is clearer when the view is bright. PAUSE… So drive as long as you need to, Find the vision that lights up your spirit. LONG PAUSE Now clear your mind of all thoughts that take you away from the present moment. If they appear,  just watch them dissolve. LONG PAUSE And draw in one more deep breath and let it go, centering on  your third eye, the space between your eyes. LONG PAUSE As you breathe, let your third eye open and transport you  to a new realm, a realm of dreams and imagination. PAUSE And as you travel to this realm you are surrounded by a cool, calming mist on either side of you. PAUSE After a few moments,  the mist begins to move away, and streaks of sunlight pierce the air, making their presence known. PAUSE The sunlight illuminates your surroundings, and you find  you’re standing on a rock, safe and secure, near a cascading masterpiece– a waterfall. PAUSE A symphony of water tumbles from high above into a blue-green pool below, PAUSE Mist and foam dance together amid the tiny rainbows  that blink in and out  with the sun’s light, all while turquoise bubbles pop. PAUSE As you look around, you notice an eagle perched on a branch nearby, and as the eagle spreads his wings, two beautiful, fluffy wings  genty form on you. PAUSE You take a moment  and just think about your silky plumages flapping in the breeze, and, like magic, they do. PAUSE You decide to test the wings, jumping up just a little off the rock, and feeling the  air catch in your flapping wings. PAUSE And with each little jump, you feel a swell of confidence, of inner power gather within you. PAUSE You rise easily above the rocks, again and again, high enough to grab a branch from a tree. . PAUSE As you alight  on the rock again, you draw in a deep breath, lift your head to the sky and leap off the rock. PAUSE The wings carry you effortlessly, suspending you before the majestic waterfall. PAUSE Splashes of water kiss the bottoms of your feet, as you glide from one side of the falls to the other. PAUSE  Then you close your eyes and ask your wings to carry you behind the waterfall so you can know its secrets. PAUSE Your magic wings obey your wishes and lift you past the pool of water and in between the fall and a rock formation. PAUSE From behind the waterfall, you run your hands over the gray-black rocks that are cool and smooth to the touch. PAUSE You listen to  the rush of the water, a curtain of strength cascading before you. PAUSE The wings draw you closer to the waterfall’s embrace, close enough  that you prepare to  feel its magic wrap around you. PAUSE As you move into the water, you feel completely comfortable as you absorb  the strength embedded in every droplet of water strength that both relaxes and rebirths you.   PAUSE And as you emerge from the other side, you turn to face the waterfall once more. PAUSE You hover above the turquoise pool, catching a glimpse of your face reflecting in the water. PAUSE At that moment, you feel the waterfall’s strength within,  and know that, like the waterfall, you, too, are  a masterpiece. PAUSE After a few moments, your wings  deliver you back to your bed, and fold up like fans before magically disappearing. PAUSE You breathe and then melt into your bed, basking in  tranquility and strength   that you are a vessel for– now and forever. To let your breath relax you for a night of deep rest. And to shift your attention onto all the things that make you feel good rather than on those that darken your mood, as you ease into sleep. Let’s begin by settling into a comfortable position, Closing your eyes and taking your first deep breath in. Let your belly expand as far as it can with all that oxygen, And release your breath out through your nose.   Take another deep breath in,  Filling your belly with just a little bit more air than before, And when you can’t breathe in anymore,  Exhale it all out.  And one last deep breath in,  Imagining the air coming in cleansing your body, cleansing your mind, And letting it all go as you breathe out. Now bring your breathing back to its normal rhythm. And just take a moment to feel into your body.  Noticing it rise and fall with the motion of your breath. Noticing if you feel any lightness from increased oxygen. Noticing if you have any kinks or tension you need to release. PAUSE… Bring your awareness to your breath. Notice how good it feels to breathe in and out, How the air can make your body tingle ever so softly with life, How the rise and fall of your chest creates a relaxing rhythm for your body, How each breath in is a renewing moment. And say a silent thank you to your body for doing this work for you as you relax it deeper into your bed. PAUSE… You may notice thoughts coming up. And if they do, imagine that any of those thoughts or emotions that are heavy with stress or worry or fear begin to dissolve with every breath out, Vanishing into the space around you, And releasing their hold on you. Watch them dissolve as you breathe them out.  PAUSE... Now notice if there are any thoughts or emotions that come up that make you feel good. Imagine yourself placing them into a beautiful basket beside you. Maybe you see yourself placing thoughts about your healthy body in the basket,  Or the work you do, The people who bring joy to your life, Or even the events that took place today that brought a smile to your heart.  Place them in that basket and imagine a smile widening across your face as you do.  PAUSE… Feel the calm happiness inside of you as you look at your basket. This pile of goodness that warms your heart and reminds you of all the blessings in your life.  Breathe them in, And surrender deeper into your bed, deeper into the arms of sleep.  PAUSE… This moment is a gift.  No matter what happened today, No matter what tomorrow brings. This moment right now, this breath, is a miracle.  And you are pure magic, A being of love and light who is flooded with blessings. So relax and surrender to the night,  As you swim in the goodness of it all. So gently ease yourself into your most favorite sleeping position,  Squeezing your eyes shut tight for just a few seconds, One, two, three… And then release the tension and relax,  Feeling the weight of your eyelids gently soften your face. Now take a deep breath in,  Filling up your belly with air, And then holding it for just a few seconds. Hold it. And then exhale,  Releasing the air, releasing the tension, releasing the day. PAUSE… Find your breath.  Let yourself follow it, In and out.  Expanding and contracting. Cleansing and releasing. Surrender to it, The rhythmic motion of air, Like the waves of the ocean dancing with the beach, Rising and covering the sand, And then retracting and releasing its hold. Breathing in, Breathing out. Breathe… PAUSE… Everything that you’re holding onto right now, All those thoughts,  Worries, Plans, Desires, Breathe them out every time you exhale.  They do not belong here. They have no power in this moment. It’s only you, And your breath. So breathe them out, And let them go. PAUSE… Feel a space slowly open up inside, A space with no past,  A space with no expectations, A space with no boundaries.  And see if you can feel this space expand just a bit more with every new breath in.  Breathe out and release, Breathe in and expand. PAUSE… Melt deeper into your bed, And feel the spaciousness inside of you grow,  Making room for tomorrow’s new beginning. A chance to wake up to a fresh, clean slate. Anything is possible here. Nothing from the past can imprison you, Nothing from the future can scare you, Let that all go, And be here now with the lightness of this space inside, Where new beginnings abound. Imagining them floating around you now as your heart smiles with thanks. Gratitude for your health, Your family and friends, Your shelter and all the things that make your life yours right now. Be thankful and feel prosperous now. LONG PAUSE... Breathe in and be one with prosperity right now. PAUSE… Now let your body relax,  And imagine your dreams tapping you on your shoulder,  Ready to play. Breathe deeply and let her take you by the hand, And walk you through a luscious green park. The warm sun is shining and the sounds of animals sing in the background. Everything is alive, Vibrant, Filled with possibility, And it’s all for you.
