KLAS Insights Episode 4 - Mac Boyter, Benefits of Proper Clinical Documentation in Patient to Physician Experience

Mac Boyter, currently a research director at KLAS Research, speaks with Justin on his experience with clinical documentation solutions. Mac addresses the pandemic and how it has highlighted the need for firms to have “survivability.” This means that firms need to offer a breadth of services beyond traditional roles like transcription services, scribing, speech-to-text, and coding solutions. Ultimately, this will all affect how clinicians interact with their patients and whether they will have a positive experience. Mac touches on the importance of making sure that everything is documented properly and in a timely manner; from the very first encounter a patient has with a clinician to the billing stage, every detail matters. The challenge then is with the ability of organizations to decrease physician burnout by proper documentation and also implement new technology for automation.
