Consideration for work should be based on ability, not status

Have you ever heard someone in the video editing industry say "Its not what you know its who you know"? It's a tale as old as the industry itself, but talented editors are being ignored and leaving the industry as a result.

We need get rid of this idea that 'its not what you know its who you know' if we want to encourage diversity in our workforce. This is my letter to the industry of how we can get rid of this idea that 'its not what you know its who you know' and reduce it to simply 'Its what you know'.
