Your vulva isn’t something to be ashamed of - with Ellie Sedgwick (Comfortable In My Skin)

One in six people with vulvas reported feeling anxious or embarrassed about the way their labia looks. The recently published Labia Diversity Report from Women’s Health Victoria surveyed 1,030 women and people with labia aged between 18-50 about how they feel about their labia. They found 31% of those surveyed associated their labia with words like ‘weird’, ‘disgusting’ or ‘ugly’ and one in four Gen-Z were anxious about the way their labia looked.

In this special bonus episode of KICPOD, Laura sits down with Ellie Sedgwick, from Comfortable In My Skin, a platform where she shares photos and stories of the enormous diversity of labias that exist. Laura and Ellie discuss how Ellie went from contemplating a labiaplasty to taking photos of labia for a living, where the pressure to have a perfect labia comes from, and why no one needs to be ashamed of how their labia looks.

How running changed Allira Potter's life

How running changed Allira Potter's life

Allira Potter was never the sporty kid growing up. Like many of us, her memories of running at school were discouraging at best. But earlier this year, when she felt her mental health declining, Allira knew she needed to make a change, so she pulled on their runners and started her running journey. Allira’s first run sucked. But she stuck with it and it's changed her life. In this episode Allira shares how her running journey started, her goals starting out versus now, the impact of training with her partner, how she feels about sharing her runs on social media, not comparing herself to others, and learning that she can walk and still be a runner.  Plus we start with an oracle card reading from Allira and learn more about her journey to spirituality.  FOLLOW US Allira @allira.potter on InstagramKICPOD @kicpod on InstagramJoin our closed KICPOD Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/630561419185145/Steph Claire Smith @stephclairesmith on Instagram & @steph_claire_smith on TikTokLaura Henshaw @laura.henshaw on Instagram & @laura.henshaw on TiktokKic @kic.app on Instagram & @kic on TikTok and kicapp.com or download the app from the App Store and Google Play StoreSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Alexis is the host of the Do You F*ing Mind podcast, she has a Masters of Neuroscience, and you guys love her! Seriously, in a recent audience survey we asked you which guests you loved and OVERWHELMINGLY you guys said Alexis, so we brought her back on the podcast to talk about purpose and turning desperation into attraction to get what you want. In the first part of the episode we talk about purpose: what is it, how to find it, how it should feel in your body when you experience it, and how to find a purpose that serves you but also includes others. Then in the second half of the episode we talk about one of Alexis’ most popular podcast episodes ‘Turning Desperation Into Attraction’ and Alexis explains how wanting something too much could be the thing that’s pushing it away. Friendship breakups + what we wish for each other

This week we read an article from The Cut called ‘Why Are Friendship Breakups So Brutal’ and we want to talk about it. We share our perspectives on friendship breakups, why they hurt more than romantic breakups, and ghosting friends vs trying to work on the friendship. And then we answer a question from you guys about our own friendship! You asked: “what is one thing you would wish for the other person?” We love getting questions from you guys! Every now and then we’ll put a question box on our Instagram story but you can slide into our DMs anytime. A revealing conversation about our sex lives

It’s a very revealing episode this week! The Body & Soul Sex Census is out and it revealed some very interesting statistics…and we share ours...like the number of times women orgasm in heterosexual sex compared to men, our favourite positions, and our fantasies. Plus Laura read an article in The Good Weekend which revealed that Gen-Z are saying no to sex altogether because they’d rather have no sex than bad sex. PLUS we shared our own plumbing disaster stories last week and this week we hear from you. If you’ve ever had a toilet visit not go to plan...you’re not alone! What Harry Garside learned from failure

What Harry Garside learned from failure

What if the worst case scenario happened? What if you set a goal, threw everything at it, told the world for years that you were going to achieve it…and then you didn’t? Australian boxer, Harry Garside, spent years telling the world (and himself) that he would win a gold medal at the Paris Olympics. He came home without the gold medal, but in the 20 years he spent trying to achieve his goal, he became friends with himself, which to Harry is more valuable than any medal. Trigger: this episode mentions suicide & suicidal ideation. If you, or someone you know is struggling, Lifeline is available 24 hours a day on 13 11 14. In this episode Harry sits down with Steph & Laura to debrief how he is feeling post-Olympics, the importance of feeling the failure, his purpose, what his next goal is, and what he is learning from putting himself through an uncomfortable challenge every month for the past five years.
