Breaking My Silence: I Was Sued By The State of Texas

Breaking My Silence: I Was Sued By The State of Texas

If you're new to this podcast, or don’t know, I was sued by the state of Texas in 2019. This has been going on for four and a half years and this will be the first time I'm speaking out about it. I have made mistakes in my past that I have learned from, and I'm here to address those, take responsibility, and share how I'm moving on and forward.  Falling flat on our faces and messing up is part of being human, right? And I, for one, really messed up. There is a lot to unpack, so I've decided to make this a 5-part series, both here on the podcast and on my YouTube channel. Since this has been the most challenging time of my life, I'm blessed to have my amazing husband, Jordan, by my side in this episode for encouragement and moral support. Here are a few reasons to listen to the entire episode with my husband, Jordan: taking ownership of my mistakes the darkest year of my life being sued by the state of Texas forgiveness and second chances growing and learning from mistakes Support the showInstagramTikTokYouTubePinterestTwitterLemon8 Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Chiseled and Called. Social Media Break

Social Media Break

Today's episode is going to be a little bit different from my usual episodes. I’ve been MIA from social media for the last few weeks. By the time this episode goes live, it will have been 25 days that I intentionally stepped away from social media. In this episode, I’m going to share some things I learned on my social media break, explain why I decided to extend my fast, and announce what to expect on the podcast starting next week. Here are a few reasons to listen to the entire episode: how this fast has allowed me to be more present living in the moment  growing closer to the Lord announcing a five week series starting next week Support the showInstagramTikTokYouTubePinterestTwitterLemon8 Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Chiseled and Called. Christian Dating: Why Men are Afraid of Commitment with @realtrevalley

Christian Dating: Why Men are Afraid of Commitment with @realtrevalley

Have you ever thought that you found “the one,” only to find out they were afraid of commitment? Or maybe he was an unbeliever and you thought that you could be the one to “fix him” and lead him to Christ. Perhaps you’ve met a man who checks all the boxes – he has a walk with the Lord, a career, is good-looking and shows interest in you – but he doesn’t pursue you.  Society has completely flipped the relationship between a man and a woman upside down. So in this episode we're talking all things dating, all things men, and why guys – even the men of God – are so afraid of commitment.  My special guest, Branson, is someone who has been a little brother to both myself and to Jordan for the last few years. When I say that he is wise beyond his years, y'all! When he speaks, he demands respect in the most Christ-like way. I'm sure a few of you have seen his videos go viral on TikTok and on Instagram, he just has so much to say and it's so good.  Here are a few reasons to listen to the entire episode with Branson aka Tre Valley: why Godly men are so afraid of commitment the fear of rejection dating a non-believer how men have become indistinguishable from God-like men Connect with Tre Valley Instagram YouTube Support the showInstagramTikTokYouTubePinterestTwitterLemon8 Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Chiseled and Called. Riots, Looting, Death Threats, and the Gospel in Dark Places with Russell Johnson

Riots, Looting, Death Threats, and the Gospel in Dark Places with Russell Johnson

Do you find it hard to be courageous as a Christian in the times we're living in? More and more people are bowing to the opinions of others and to woke-culture instead of bowing to the cross. I get that standing up and using your voice makes you vulnerable to backlash, but guess what? Jesus Himself said, "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you." With that topic in mind, I cannot think of a more perfect guest to have on for today's episode than Pastor Russell Johnson. Pastor Russell Johnson was born and raised in Seattle and though he spent the first part of his adult-life working in politics, God had other plans. In the summer of 2014, Pastor Russell and his wife, Marija, stepped out in faith to start The Pursuit. Their church started in a barn with no indoor plumbing, no heat, and broken windows, but God was up to something.  In 2018, Pastor Russell and Marija purchased a former department store building and began a full-scale remodel, converting the space into a multi-use church, preschool/childcare facility, and outreach center. The Pursuit is a place where anyone can belong, everyone can contribute, and anything can happen. In this episode, Pastor Russell Johnson and I talk about how the pandemic exposed backwards values, that cancel culture is only going to get worse, and how a little courage goes a long way. Here are a few reasons to listen to the entire episode with Pastor Russell Johnson: being courageous as a christian in today's culture fighting back against cultural pressure how God is working in churches around the world Connect with Pastor Russell Johnson: Website Instagram Facebook YouTube Support the showInstagramTikTokYouTubePinterestTwitterLemon8 Thank you so much for listening to this episode of Chiseled and Called. The Reality of Foster Parenting: Peeking Behind the Curtain

The Reality of Foster Parenting: Peeking Behind the Curtain

Have you ever thought about becoming a foster parent? Do you feel that you have a calling in life? Is it something the Lord stirred in your heart sporadically? My guest in this episode, Jamie C. Finn, has been a great sounding board for my husband and me in our season of foster parenting, and she shares the most incredible perspectives on the foster care system and foster parenting. Jamie C. Finn is the founder and executive director of Foster the Family, the author of Foster the Family, and a highly sought-after speaker for retreats, conferences, and events for foster and adoptive parents. She is also the founder and owner of Goods and Better.  Jamie's social media platforms provide a glimpse into life as a foster parent, as well as inspiration and encouragement to thousands of foster parents. Jamie lives in New Jersey, with her husband, Alan. And at any given moment, is a mother to four to six children, including her two biological children and two children adopted through foster care. In this episode, Jamie C. Finn and I talk about how she and her husband became foster parents to 30 children, how God has used the foster care process to teach them, and advice for those considering fostering children. Here are a few reasons to listen to the entire episode with Jamie C. Finn: the mission behind Foster the Family foster care is bigger than taking care of a child biggest misconceptions of foster care why churches need to step up Mentioned Resources: Foster the Family Book Connect with Jamie C.
