Ep 38 - 7 Years Later: Miscarriage (TW)

Hi beautiful humans, ⬇️PLEASE READ⬇️ Big trigger warning for this episode. I talk about my experience going through a miscarriage and I talk about my thought/emotional process a bit. I will say this - a lot of what I went through I look back in disbelief sometimes so I do scoff here and there but I want you to know I am not trying to diminish or put down my own experience (or anyone else's) - laughing is a big coping mechanism of mine so I just wanted to put that out there. I also may sound a bit disconnected, which happens when I don't feel like getting emotional about something. This topic is something that when I let myself feel the pain for a moment I have no choice but to fully feel and I would not have been able to finish the episode so I did stop myself a couple times - but don't worry I gave space for myself feel the feels after. This past Monday marks 7 years since my miscarriage. It's taken me a long time to be able to talk about this publicly, and I've always wanted to but didn't feel I had the right place to share. I now feel safe and feel that I have processed enough to be emotionally prepared to share this in hopes of helping someone else who has gone through this and to raise awareness on the reality of miscarriage and some of the emotions that follow (this is just my experience, others may have different thoughts and emotions obviously). Thank you for listening to my story. *** EDIT - I say “cis women” at the beginning. What I should have said is “people with uteruses”. I unintentionally excluded trans men who choose to keep their reproductive organs and choose to carry*** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As usual, google forms are always open for suggestions, stories, feedback, etc. I'd love to hear from you.
