This week on The Real Grind, we have our first guest from the lending side of the industry - Paul Peebles. Paul, the National Underwriter at Old Capital, underwrites and structures transactions handled by the company through an array of sources, including conduits, banks, life companies, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, and private money lenders. His extensive knowledge and strong connections help him handle billions of dollars of lending for multifamily properties each year.

Go ahead and ditch the stereotype - Paul is anything but a stuffy banker. The man has curious anecdotes about how things have evolved in multifamily over the years - from the insane increase in rent prices over the decades to getting Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac comfortable with the syndication model. He also flies airplanes and has a podcast that focuses on the real estate industry. He’s the Deal Maker.
