The Wizard Dumbledore STOLE Fame from (Extended Lore) - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory EXTRA. This is the FIRST video of the new channel which will feature SHORTER format content, and today we're going to be discussing Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore. More specifically- we're going to be discussing Dumbledore's THEFT of fame from a wizard that most have never even heard of. Let's dive in to it.Now, when most hear the name Albus Dumbledore they think of the WISE, POWERFUL and ESTABLISHED wizard which served as head of Hogwarts school. But in reality, his prestigious reputation expanded far beyond the confines of Hogwarts school, having also achieved titles such as Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards and Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. Dumbledore had truly been cemented in history as a morally good and unquestionably powerful wizard, and this is largely due to his single greatest accomplishment- defeating dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in 1945 and effectively SAVING the wizarding world from destruction. After 1945, there wasn't a wizarding household in the world that didn't know his name. However, what many don't realize is that even before his victory of Grindelwald, Dumbledore had acquired a considerable amount of fame in the wizarding world.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory

Why Grindelwald NEVER Broke out of Nurmengard Prison - Harry Potter Explained

Why Grindelwald NEVER Broke out of Nurmengard Prison - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Albus Dumbledore, Gellert Grindelwald, and Nurmengard Prison. In the year 1945, a duel of epic proportions went down between the elder-wand wielding Grindelwald, and the powerful Albus Dumbledore. British pure-blood wizard Elphias Doge described their duel as the greatest of all time, and that "no duel ever matched it". Fortunately, with the Fantastic Beasts films progressing, it seems as though we're getting nearer and nearer to actually witnessing this fated duel on screen. Dumbledore eventually came out on top - successfully edging out Grindelwald during their duel, and becoming the new master of the elder wand. However, despite besting the dark wizard, no fatalities occurred as a result of their duel. Dumbledore spared his life, but something would still have to come of the dark wizard. Provided that it was 1945, you may have expected Grindelwald to have been sent to Azkaban prison- a hot spot for most dark, evil and powerful wizards. However, this was not the case at all, in fact, surprisingly, Grindelwald was imprisoned in Nurmengard castle, the same fortress that he himself built to hold his own enemies. Nurmengard was the base-camp for all of his operations during his reign of power, so it's interesting that he would be imprisoned in such familiar territory. Why would they put him in a building that he knew better than anyone else? Why was Gellert Grindelwald imprisoned in Nurmengard, and WHY did he never escape?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

What Is the Top Speed of a Broom in Harry Potter? - Harry Potter Explained

What Is the Top Speed of a Broom in Harry Potter? - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. In today's video, we're going to be discussing wizarding transportation. Not via the floo network, not via apparition, and certainly not by Hippogriff - but by broomstick. Of course- in the muggle world a broomstick has a very different function, but to a witch or wizard- they see an opportunity to fly- a means of getting from point A to point B. But they're not only used in every day life- they're also used in sport- notably Quidditch. Without broomsticks the game of quidditch would cease to exist, and wouldn't that be awful. Brooms are brought to the forefront of our minds right near the beginning of the first book/film, when Hagrid first brings Harry to Diagon Alley. In complete awe of everything around him, Harry pauses for a moment as he walks past 'Quality Quidditch Supplies', Diagon Alley's premier broom shop. It's also in this moment that he overhears other young witches and wizards going berzerk over a broom in the window: "Wow! Look at it! The new Nimbus 2000!" And from that moment Harry was intrigued.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

How Do Azkaban Escapees Get Their Wands Back? - Harry Potter Theory

How Do Azkaban Escapees Get Their Wands Back? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Azkaban prison, Death Eaters, and Wands!Azkaban prison, located in an unknown region of the North Sea, has held, over the course of history, some of the wizarding world's most dangerous witches and wizards within its walls. It's here that magical folk are sent to pay for their crimes against the wizarding world- and pay their certainly do- isolated from the rest of the world in a dark fortress guarded by dementors. Being sent to Azkaban is a supreme punishment, as the fortress is desolate, nearly-inescapable, and well, scary. Before Azkaban, wrongdoers were scattered across various prisons all over the country, but this all changed when the Ministry recognized that they could use the island fortress. If you were unfortunate enough to be sentenced there, you could be sure that you would be stripped of all of your freedoms, and more specifically- the topic of today's video- all of your belongings. Wand included. We've heard of some of our favourite characters being wrongfully sent there, including Hagrid who was sent there for 2 months after being wrongfully accused of Re-opening the Chamber of Secrets, and then of course Sirius who was falsely accused of murdering Pettigrew, serving Voldemort, betraying the potters, and murdering 12 muggles. The prison also certainly hasn't been short of Death Eaters residing within its walls, with witches/wizards like Igor Karkaroff, Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange also occupying a space in the prison at one point or another. But ultimately, all of the aforementioned witches/wizards got out of Azkaban, either through escaping or exoneration. What I want to know is, how do the wizards and witches who escape get their wands back? JK Rowling Reveals WHY Harry Potter Was Never a True Horcrux - Harry Potter Explained

JK Rowling Reveals WHY Harry Potter Was Never a True Horcrux - Harry Potter Explained

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today, we're discussing Harry Potter, Voldemort, and Horcruxes. More specifically- we're going to be taking a look at WHY Harry should not be considered as a horcrux.JK Rowling, who coined 'Horcrux' defines them as "a receptacle prepared by dark magic in which a Dark wizard has intentionally hidden a fragment of his soul for the purpose of attaining immortality". Essentially they are soul containers- objects on to which the dark wizard or witch in question have successfully imparted a piece of themselves. In the Harry Potter books, Voldemort ends up being the second wizard to ever successfully produce one- except, he produces more than one, he produces 6 (7 only if you count Harry, which is what I'm going to dig in to further). These horcruxes were the diary, the ring, the locket, the diadem, the cup, and Nagini. Because Harry carried a piece of Voldemort's soul with him, many believe that Harry too was a horcrux- but I'm here to set the record straight. Harry Potter was NOT a horcrux. But don't worry, I've got evidence to back up these flagrant claims.Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The UNPUBLISHED Chamber of Secrets Draft + WHY Nearly Headless Nick Is NEARLY Headless

The UNPUBLISHED Chamber of Secrets Draft + WHY Nearly Headless Nick Is NEARLY Headless

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory..EXTRA. Today, we're going to be discussing the Chamber of Secrets. More specifically- we're going to be taking at a look at an unpublished segment from the book that was recommended to be cut by Rowling's editor. The passage in question pertains to none other than Nearly-Headless Nick, one of the ghosts of Hogwarts school.Nearly-headless-nick was a fifteenth-century nobleman that fell in love with 'Lady Grieve' - a lady-in-waiting. However, when Nick attempted to fix her crooked teeth with a spell his spell backfired and Grieve grew tusks instead. Nick was subsequently sentenced to death. Given the premature nature of his demise- I can see why he would want to stick around, or why he would have felt that his business was unresolved. In Rowling's first draft of the Chamber of Secrets, she has Nick singing a song explaining his whole situation. This song was CUT from the publication, but fortunately for us, Rowling did publish it on her website many years ago.Let's have a look, shall we?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Did VOLDEMORT Have a Dark Mark? - Harry Potter Theory

Did VOLDEMORT Have a Dark Mark? - Harry Potter Theory

Welcome to Harry Potter Theory. Today we're going to be discussing Voldemort, his legions of followers, and one of the most fear-inspiring symbols in the wizarding world: The Dark Mark.Now- the Death Eaters were the most loyal followers of Voldemort - his innermost circle - and together they obeyed his every bidding in an effort to help 'cleanse' the wizarding world. The goal of the group was simple: establish pure-blood authority, and as devout followers of Voldemort and his cause they would do anything in order to achieve this goal. However, given that Voldemort's goal was to basically oppress anyone that wasn't a pure-blood witch or wizard, you'll be surprised to hear that some (less-official) members of the group weren't actually pure-bloods. In fact, many of their followers were of breeds that Death eaters held considerable stigma towards- people like Fenrir Greyback. Which is why there's an important distinction to make here. TRUE Death Eaters possessed the 'Dark Mark'- a fear-inspiring and sinister looking magical symbol that was etched in to the skin like a tattoo. This 'mark' was reserved for Voldemort's most loyal, devout and most importantly WORTHY followers, which is why someone like Greyback, a werewolf, never received this honour. But the question remains...Did VOLDEMORT himself have a DARK MARK?Socials: https://linktr.ee/hptheory See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
