The Evolution of MMA in Thailand || George Hickman & Andrew Wood

George Hickman and Andrew Wood are just one of several owners of the brand new facility and soon-to-be-famous Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA gym located in Phuket, Thailand.

George Hickman was born and raised in the state of North Carolina and is a former college wrestler who turned MMA Coach. Since the transition from fighter to coach, George has trained some of the most elite UFC fighters to have entered the cage including UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski.

Andrew “Woody” Wood is a former Rugby league player from North England, his experience in sports and sports training has developed his skills to become one of the best strength and conditioning coaches for elite athletes across the fighting world.

In this episode of Fruiting Body Podcast, we chat with George and Woody about their new gym Bangtao Muay Thai & MMA, the evolution of MMA in Phuket, and the many different relationships between trainers and fighters.
