Intercultural Journalism: TV and Radio from a Foreign Country

In this episode of the "Foreign Press Podcast" Patricia Vasconcellos, White House and State Department Correspondent for SBT, talks with a highly qualified professional who carries out journalism with excellence.

Gustau Alegret is a four-time Emmy Award winning journalist from Spain with more than 25 years of experience in Broadcast journalism in Europe and in the United States. Former US news director, managing editor and anchor for the international TV news channel NTN24 in Washington DC, Gustau Alegret interviewed the main Latin American leaders and US authorities along the years he was in charge of the two TV talk shows he hosted in the US capital. He has also won the Napolitan Victory Award and he is an expert on political and corporate communications and a World Economic Forum’s Media Leader. GustauAlegret was, for then years, the U.S. Correspondent for RAC-U, the main Catalan language private radio station. Previously, he worked in other media outlets in Spain. He is from Tarragona. His vast experience includes the role of director of communications at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Consumer Affairs for the Catalan Government; and worked as a strategic communication consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and at the corporate communication company Intermedia GdC. His academic experience includes visiting professor in Political Communication, Management Crisis, and Media Training. Gustau Alegret graduated in Journalism from Pompeu Fabra University; completed the Executive Program in Strategic Communication Management from ESADE Business School and has the Executive Certificate Program in Business Administration and Professional English from Georgetown University.
