Joachim Rønning was nominated for an Academy Award in 2012 for his film Kon-Tiki and has also directed Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and the upcoming Tron: Ares. Jerry Bruckheimer is a film and television producer known for the films The Rock, Crimson Tide, Con Air, Armageddon, Enemy of the State, Pearl Harbor, and Black Hawk Down, television series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and The Amazing Race, as well as the Beverly Hills Cop, Top Gun, Bad Boys, Pirates of the Caribbean, and National Treasure franchises. Young Woman and the Sea is the extraordinary true story of Trudy Ederle (played by Daisy Ridley), the first woman to successfully swim the English Channel – a 21-mile trek from France to England.
