Interview with Author Matthew Lewis

Interview with Author Matthew Lewis

From Empress Matilda and her cousin Stephen to the Wars of the Roses, Richard III and Henry VII, the throne of England has quite the history of usurpers. On today’s episode I invite author Matthew Lewis to discuss his love and knowledge of the time period...and he’ll answer tell us who had the greatest motive to kill the princes in the Tower.

I’m Rebecca Larson, host of the Tudors Dynasty Podcast and owner of TudorsDynasty.com. Telling the stories of those who lived centuries before us is what I enjoy doing most. Whether it be a show on one subject or an interview with an author/historian, I’ll bring you the tales of 16th century England.

Before I get started today, I need to take a minute to thank all the folks who became new patrons since my last episode: Karla M, Christina R and Jennifer M As well as a shout out Kelly R for increasing her pledge and thank you to all my current patrons. A full list of current patrons can be found at tudorsdynastypodcast.com. If you’d like to become a patron you can do so by going to patreon.com/tudorsdynasty and click become a patron - for as little as $3/month you can show your support.

Buckfast Abbey and Saint Thomas More

Buckfast Abbey and Saint Thomas More

This episode is probably best if watched as a video on Spotify or YouTube, but should also make sense by listening. I'll include a link to the images discussed. My visit to Buckfast Abbey was a surprise. My trusty guide Nigel did not tell me we would be stopping there but it turned into one of my best memories from my trip. My Visit to Penshurst Place in Kent

My Visit to Penshurst Place in Kent

Before you critique my pronunciation of the name, I am merely repeating what those there said and it was confirmed online as well - yes, you pronounce the S. :) This is a brief episode of one of the manor houses I visited during my first week in England. I interviewed Dr. Linda Porter at the café before doing a tour of the place myself. It is a beautiful place, and I will also share my pictures with you once I get them organized a bit better -be sure to head over to my website and subscribe so you can see all the pictures there. If you previously subscribed please do so again because I had to do a website change which removed all previous subscribers. -- Commercial-free for patrons! -- Hosted by: Rebecca Larson Credit on history to: https://www.penshurstplace.com/
