Lots of new youtube content on youtube.com/xpmedianow including optimizing your computer and a video you should watch if you’re considering an nVidia RTX 3000 series purchase - https://youtu.be/MnqVsaXjTfg  After spending a few weeks talking about PVE one thing kept coming up and it was the idea that development of PVE would make the conversation about PVE vs. PVP.  Ronal and MTB took this concept and talked about ways it could be avoided and ultimately how PVE and PVP could be complimentary. Do you think adding in a fully fleshed out PVE system would harm PVP? Is it ok to teach players how to play a hardcore game?  Does that take anything away from veteran players? After wrapping up the PVE conversation, MTB and Ronal spend almost an hour on talking about winning 1v1 battles.  This is a continuation of the choke points concept that MTB talked about on episode 36. MTB breaks down a simple concept of offense and defense and how that creates a natural choke point based on play style and player preference before the ‘match’ even starts.  He illustrates this by talking through how the concept applies in other games and then how it applies in Tarkov.   Following this break down, Ronal presents a pvp scenario he was recently in on shoreline and how he was able to take a fight to a stalemate until he found favorable terrain to continue the battle on and ultimately won the fight with a well timed flank.  MTB then breaks this scenario down from the attacking point of view and the defender’s point of view using the choke point concept. After the journey into names past and various chat programs the hosts talk about some recent experiences related to the ‘queue at the same time’ tactic that is utilized for 10 man labs.  In this specific instance MTB details a conversation where three individuals were frustrated completing the task and decided to queue at the same time (while not teamed up) and let the other shoot at long distance to complete the task. Do you think this should be allowed? Most MMOs and seasonal games end up in a similar position - players find the most effective way to complete objectives.  Does BSG need to respond? Exfil is a weekly Escape From Tarkov Podcast On this week’s episode we break down everything you need to know about winning a 1v1 fight.  Specifically we break down scenarios where you shoot at (or get shot) and decide you are going to engage the other player in a fight. A recent encounter of MTBtrigger's is outlined in the mall area of Interchange just outside of the OLI store.  This gun fight leads to a conversation of recognizing choke points and later identifying them before a fight begins.   The episode is rounded out by a discussion about how to control a choke point or use it to your advantage by anticipating enemy tactics. Additionally, Ronal and MTB spend a few minutes talking about the rumors of a pending wipe (which seem to just be rumors).  They boil it down to a question - what would the perfect length for a wipe be as long as we are in this ‘seasonal’ phase of the game.  Is it a length of time or based on some sort of change or content release. Ronal and MTB tackle these debates, but they also talk about what the community embracing 10 man labs could mean for future Tarkov content. There are many things that point to teaming up in Escape From Tarkov as being an ‘OK’ thing to do - the ‘recruit-a-scav’ exfils for example.  Additionally, there have been systems in the game teased that would work similar to reputation, a Karma system. In a persistent game, all of these things would be expected.  However, some recent changes, 5 man maximum on Factory and the changing of Killa’s mechanics and loot in the beginning of the wipe, point towards a seasonal mindset.
