400th Special Episode Secrets to Success With Kevin Clifton, Jake Wood & Ricky Wilde (LIVE) [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Today on the 400th episode of The Disruptive Entrepreneur Podcast, Rob Moore talks to successful people in the creatives and arts industry. We have Kevin Clifton, Ricky Wilde & Jake Wood to talk about their respective careers and how they’re able to climb up the ladder of success. For Kevin, Ricky, and Jake, hard work and determination go a long long way. Even though people say that there’s 'no money in the arts', this saying never stopped and never will stop them. Instead, it’s what makes them strive and thrive in their industries—to make their names and to mark their legacies. Start tuning in to know more about their stories in this episode. KEY TAKEAWAYS He has been dancing since he was 4 and according to him, the best dancers, just like any artists, will make you feel something. They have techniques on how to communicate their art with you effectively. People enjoy whatever you put out if they feel the authenticity and creativity. They’ll connect with it in some way or another. And, don’t even bother with the bunch who don’t appreciate what you’re doing. Their negativity can throw you out of focus. Eye on the prize, always. What traits does Kevin admire in other successful people? Hard work – Being relentless in finding your passion. Connecting with people and being humble. Keeping it together despite the challenges, the rejections, and the failures. What would Kevin advise to the younger him? Live your truth. Don’t waste too much energy trying to be something you don’t want to be. According to Jake, it takes hard work, dedication, and stubbornness to be a great actor. He started pursuing his passion in acting since he was 10. Ricky has been successful in the music industry for decades. He admits that there’s a lot of fear and insecurity that he’s finding balance with. Who do they admire? Ricky admires Dave Grohl and Kurt Cobain for putting out great music out there. BEST MOMENTS “The best dancers are the ones that can make you feel and connect emotionally with you.” “People get bored with watching someone who’s kind of perfect of techniques and lines… They don’t want to be given a display of something; they want to be excited by it.” “You think that the world is talking about you and you place all the importance on it. But the truth is no one cares.” “I probably wasted a lot of energy worrying what everyone else think of me and as a consequence living my life for other people.” “Insecurities are inherent in successful people.” [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter https://robmoore.com/podbooks rob.team ABOUT THE GUEST Kevin Clifton is an English professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing, a BBC TV Series. My Therapist Shamed Me, Lessons Exposed [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Rob doesn’t ordinarily share the content of his therapy sessions on his podcasts, but he feels like some of the feedback he has been getting from his therapist would be beneficial for other entrepreneurs out there to hear. Listen in to this episode to learn how and why you are already good enough, regardless of what you do or don’t achieve. Secret Leaders Podcast Listen Now https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/secret-leaders/id1229438369Learn what it’s really like to be a top entrepreneur and how to get there from founders of startups like Monzo, BrewDog, Jo Malone, Slack, and Lastminute.com   KEY TAKEAWAYS  Being an entrepreneur can be lonely, you are learning, taking risks but also have a lot of responsibility. This can take it’s toll emotionally. There’s a lot more knowledge and acceptance of everyone’s mental health in recent times, Rob tries to lead the way in accepting that its ok to not always have everything figured out. Do you compare yourself? Do you every feel good enough? Rob often seeks his validation from his success as an entrepreneur. This can be helpful in small doses but if it is all we search for it can be an empty pursuit. These are external factors of validation. Who you are is much greater than this. Rob’s therapist believes that Rob saw love as conditional when he was a child, which is what has now built his external ideas of value and worth as an adult. Surround yourself with people who love you for who you are regardless of what you achieve. There is a lot of knowledge out there for entrepreneurs, but not enough surrounding mental health and the difficulties you can face in your journey.   BEST MOMENTS  “Being an entrepreneur can be lonely” “You are good enough, you are worthy!” “Our self-esteem is linked to unconditional love” “Many people are carrying baggage from years before”   [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. Key Business Metrics For Fast Growth (WARNING) [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Key Business Metrics For Fast Growth (WARNING) [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

“You cannot master what you do not measure” In this episode, Rob is warning you to ensure you are measuring all the key metrics in your personal finances and in your business. There are certain metrics that are essential in growing both your personal and business finance and if you are not tracking these well, it could lead to failure. Secret Leaders Podcast Listen Now https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/secret-leaders/id1229438369Learn what it’s really like to be a top entrepreneur and how to get there from founders of startups like Monzo, BrewDog, Jo Malone, Slack, and Lastminute.com   KEY TAKEAWAYS  You need a yearly set of management accounts, which are your abbreviated or estimated profit and loss of your business. You can start with a generic set and then tailor it to fit. To measure your assets and liabilities you need a balance sheet – it is essential to track. You need to know how much revenue each of your employee generates, you need 1-2 times return on an admin staff member but someone who works in sales should be generating at least 5 times more than their salary. Staff turnover can create major changes in your revenue and cash flow. Track your staff tenure rate, if it is below the average for your sector then you need to look at why this is. If you measure your refund rate you then know if it needs to be lower. A lower refund rate means a leaner and more profitable business. A NPS score is essentially a satisfaction score- either for your customers or your staff. It is a scale of 0-10 and is based on a survey you ask customers and/or employees to fill out.   BEST MOMENTS  “If you are not seeing a full set of management accounts…you do not know what is going on in your business” “You need to know the revenue generated per staff member in your company” “The average tenure for staff members is only 2 years”   [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator. From 32 to 11,000 Clients in ONE YEAR | Kim Walsh Phillips [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors]

Can anyone run and create a course? In this bonus episode, Rob speaks to entrepreneur and coaching business owner Kim Phillips about how she brought in 11,000 clients in just one year! They also discuss marketing, social media and the power of data. Kim started her career in the marketing world, particularly around direct marketing. Today she focuses all her time and energy on the impact makers, this is the audience she serves. You should aim towards your ‘apex’ customer, all your content should be aimed towards that individual. Often, we self-sabotage ourselves by letting our ego drive our decisions rather than focusing on our mission. Usually the people we are worried about are not even the people who will help us with this mission! With clients, it’s important to focus on where a buyer comes from not just a lead. Some channels generate a lot of leads but not many buyers whereas others attract a lot less leads but attract a high value client. Never tell your children that you have to go to work. Talk about the impact you make instead, never make work look or seem like an obligation to them.  BEST MOMENTS  “I’m a total data nerd” “Too often we put our ego before our mission” “I believe the only way we overcome the darkness is when we do something, when the good do nothing, evil wins” “The numbers can be vanity” [Business, mindset, entrepreneur, disruptors] VALUABLE RESOURCES https://robmoore.com/ bit.ly/Robsupporter   https://robmoore.com/podbooks  rob.team ABOUT THE HOST Rob Moore is an author of 9 business books, 5 UK bestsellers, holds 3 world records for public speaking, entrepreneur, property investor, and property educator.
