Just a sophomore at UCLA, Newberry is already a regular in AVP main draws, having made back-to-back main draws as a 17-year-old with good friend and teammate Lindsey Sparks, becoming the first U-18 team to make consecutive main draws in AVP history. In her freshman season at UCLA, Newberry went 24-8, helping the Bruins seal up a Pac-12 Championship.
