One Piece Season 2, Ahsoka in Theaters, and Marvel Moves Schedule

“One Piece” Live-Action Series: Gearing Up for Season Two on Netflix?Producers of Netflix’s smash hit, “One Piece” live-action series, have revealed that scripts for its much-anticipated second season are finalized and fans could see its return as early as next year. Marty Adelstein of Tomorrow Studios, the powerhouse behind the show, confirmed the scripts’ readiness in a recent Variety interview. However, there’s a catch: the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike needs to conclude before production commences. The debut season, released on August 31, has turned heads in the anime community, garnering an impressive 18.5 million views shortly after its premiere. The forthcoming season aims to appeal not just to existing “One Piece” aficionados, but a broader audience. Adelstein mentioned the series has already begun this expansion, noting significant family viewership. The show, lauded for its heartfelt adaptation and robust ensemble dynamic, awaits Netflix’s official green light for its next adventure. In a move that has electrified the Star Wars fandom, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Episode 5 of the Disney+ original series “Star Wars: Ahsoka” will be screened in select theaters. This unprecedented event, named the Ahsoka Midseason Fan Celebration, marks a transformative step in how we experience episodic series. Why Episode 5?Episode 5 promises to be a pivotal point in the eight-episode saga created by Dave Filoni and co-conceived with George Lucas. The series follows Ahsoka Tano (Rosario Dawson), Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan, on her quest through the galaxy to find Grand Admiral Thrawn and the missing Ezra Bridger. Given the critical juncture of the series, it makes perfect sense that this episode would be chosen for theatrical screening.Marvel Studios has made changes to its upcoming Disney+ original series. The release dates/windows for the following shows have been adjusted:What If…? Season 2, Echo, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men ’97, and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.Loki Season 2 is still releasing on October 6, 2023, as scheduled. What If…?
