Episode 377: Authenticity & Trauma Therapist 2.0. Guy Macpherson, PhD.

I’m continually amazed at the incredible people I interview on this podcast. The people who dedicate their lives to helping those people who’ve been impacted by trauma are nothing short of incredible and inspiring. In this episode, I share one of the main themes that quickly showed up on this podcast when I first started it, and now, comes up almost every week--the importance (and the often overlooked quality) of authenticity. First though, a huge thank-you to my sponsors who help me keep this thing going! CPTSD Foundation provides live, daily, peer-led, interactive group calls, in a safe atmosphere for survivors of complex trauma, equipping them with skills and information they can use every single day in their healing journey. Somatic Experiencing is a psychobiological method of addressing clients’ physical and emotional trauma conditions and helps to give voice to their experiences without a need for them to retell the story. For more information please visit: https://traumahealing.org/kser Authenticity is also that element I’m continually trying to infuse into my membership community, Trauma Therapist | 2.0. Today, I talk a bit about what makes up this community and how I invite my guests to talk about the ways in which they bring their presence and authenticity to the work they do, and why that is so crucial and important for this work. Guy Macpherson, PhD, is a husband, a father of two, and holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. He has spent the last several years studying the impact and treatment of trauma, and early psychosis. In 2014, Guy founded The Trauma Therapist Project with the goals of raising the awareness of trauma and creating an educational and supportive community for new trauma workers. The Trauma Therapist Project has now grown to include The Trauma Therapist | Podcast, now being listened to in more than 160 countries around the world, as well as Trauma Therapist | 2.0, an online membership community specifically dedicated to educating and inspiring trauma workers just starting out on their trauma-informed journey. Guy’s focus currently is on creating a vibrant, global community to support, educate and inspire new trauma workers, as well as to upend the present way that trauma is taught at the graduate level.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-trauma-therapist-podcast-with-guy-macpherson-phd-inspiring-interviews-with-thought-leaders-in-the-field-of-trauma/exclusive-contentAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands
