Episode 30 - Jaime Cohen - Learning from a Challenging Past to Help Create a Better Future

This is Episode 30 of the VulnerABLE Podcast!From facing a ton of adversity early on in her life, that led to depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Now she's a communications coach helping people connect deeper!During her early years, her family moved around a lot. Aside from the struggles being in a new place presents, there were a ton of other challenges coming her way. When her family ended up in Iowa she was picked on for being Jewish. This continued heavily through middle school where she dealt with merciless bullying by peers and teachers. During 6th grade she experienced immense trauma in addition to the bullying. She then developed an autoimmune disease which started to cripple her. All of this led to anxiety, depression, and even suicidal thoughts. She found light in attending a summer camp, where through the support of a few fellow campers she became one of the “cool kids”. It gave her the strength and confidence to face her peers in a better way when she returned to school the next year. What she began to realize was that people didn’t know how to communicate effectively and even properly. She realized that many people are placing judgements they have about themselves on others. Now, she is an internationally recognized speaker, communication coach & trainer, and founder of The Right Words. She teaches you to level up your communication skills and become well-equipped to connect more deeply during any interaction. Her life has been spent studying language, researching human interaction, and studying the way people think. Through these studies she’s has helped hundreds of individuals and organizations across the world build stronger relationships and departments, understand the needs and motivations of one another, and function at their highest potential. Her ultimate goal is to cultivate a generation of thoughtful, deliberate communicators.
