More about today’s guest Aldo Fiordelli is a professional journalist from Florence. He writes for Decanter, where he also serves as a judge at the DWWA. He collaborates with Civiltà del bere, the oldest Italian wine magazine, and contributes to several editions of Corriere della Sera. For nearly 20 years, he was the gastronomic critic for the Guida de L'Espresso. In 2022, he received the international Casato Prime Donne award. He is a Chevalier de Champagne and, since 2023, a member of the Italian Academy of Vine and Wine. He has authored six books, one on the Macchiaioli and the others on gastronomic topics. His latest work, focusing on Maremma, will be released in 2024. Born in Mexico, with a mother from Hawaii via Korea and an anthropologist father from New York via Paris, he was weaned on exotic and delicious foods. Marc and his photographer wife Kim are the authors of 14 books including a pioneering series of illustrated wine-food-travel books: The Wine Roads of Europe, The Wine Roads of France, The Wine Roads of Italy (Premio Barbi Colombini), and The Wine Roads of Spain. Other titles include The Wine and Food of Europe, The Food Lovers’ Companion Italy, The Food Lovers’ Companion France, Wine, a global history.
