Welcome to Episode 1911 in which host Mckenna Cassidy interviews Martina Fiorino this week on The Next Generation. More about today’s guest Martina is Bruna Grimaldi’s daughter. After graduating in Business Administration and studying abroad for a couple of years she worked as a Wine Buyer in London but since December 2018 she has returned to Grinzane Cavour in the Barolo region of the Langhe to help the family enterprise. Together with her brother Simone, who joined the family estate earlier, they form a formidable team. Simone mostly focuses on the production (vineyard and winery management) whilst Martina looks after the commercial and administrative things of business. Being a small estate we all work together as a family team. The Grimaldi story begins in the 1950s with Martina’s great grandfather, but its most recent chapter is being expertly written by Simone and Martina who work side by side with their parents Bruna and Franco. It has been a dynamic last decade for the family, with the next generation stepping up. She later graduated from the University of Notre Dame and pursued wine on the East Coast with E. & J. Gallo Winery. She has worked in wine distribution for restaurants and luxury retail stores for the past three years. Originally from Phoenix, Arizona, McKenna is a Certified Specialist of Wine (2021), Certified Sommelier (2022), and Italian Wine Ambassador (2023). She loves country swing dancing, hosting brunch parties, and sipping Italian Wine.
