Is CPTSD Controlling You Life?
I recently said that childhood trauma, CPTSD, and abuse is both the cause and the solution to many of our problems in life. As a trauma coach, my job is to help you do what I have to do, and that is to figure out the underlying reason behind what is happening in your life. Of course, you may be wondering how a childhood filled with adverse experiences can be beneficial in the world. I don't look at this as something that makes your life better when I say solution I mean that understanding our past gives us the leverage and ability to change our present and future. The choices that we make in life are often a reflection of your past. Most trauma survivors don't recognize that it is our past experiences in mental, emotional, and physical abuse that lead us to where we are today. We are faced with living out the path that others laid in place of us, or worse; we don't understand that we can create change in our lives. We often leverage our past experiences to cop out of accountability and personal responsibility because let's face it; it is much easier to play the victim than it is to be the hero. I know that from personal experience. In this video, I talk about the power of understanding how your past experiences can be causing CPTSD, dissociation, unknown illnesses, and lack of personal power, and why educating yourself about the impact of your past is how you move through it. Why MEN must talk about mental health.

Why MEN must talk about mental health.

In modern western society we have created what will continue to be the downfall of humanity be creating a lack of openness and authentic emotional in-tune and in-depth men. From the time we are young boys we are told that "boys don't cry" or "man up". We can all see where that has left us. We (as in my peers and I) are on a mission to create a society that is welcoming to the notion that Men also are faced with Mental Health Issues. This podcast is not a replacement for mental health care. If you are having a life threatening emergency please contact your local emergency number. Each episode of this podcast will be under 10 minutes for your listening pleasure! How to be a foster parent

How to be a foster parent

I was recently asked in an Instagram AMA if I would share my thoughts on what it takes to be a foster parent. I want to be very clear that I am in fact not a foster parent nor a parent however as a child I was around the foster care system for years. As always it is full disclosure for me to say that I am not a doctor or therapist I am only sharing my views in my thoughts and whether right or wrong they are simply my truth.
