How do we assess symptoms of OCD?

How do we assess symptoms of OCD?

Today, we dive into the all important question: How do we assess symptoms of OCD?

Assessment of OCD doesn't always happen in one session - sometimes you need to work with someone for a long time before they reveal a part of themselves that then allows you to make a diagnosis.

And so on today's episode, we discuss OCD's symptoms according to the DSM-5 Diagnostic Criteria, and the various types of assessments you can use when screening for OCD. And we also explore how to determine if someone's thoughts are egosyntonic or egodystonic (and what that even means!).
