In this episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast I got to speak with the brilliant Dr Phil Price (@drphilprice). Phil is a senior lecturer in Strength and Conditioning, and Biomechanics, at St Mary's University. He is also the host of The Progress Theory Podcast (@theprogresstheory) and is currently researching hybrid training and is part of the HIFIm research group, who are investigating and developing exercise countermeasures for the training of astronauts during space travel.

Phil is an incredibly knowledgeable guy with some fantastic insights into hybrid training, and I was really pleased to get to be able to speak with him and basically fire questions at him all about how to optimise your training for strength and endurance when preparing for something like HYROX.

We get into the dos and don’ts of zone 2 training, recovery techniques – including ice baths, common hybrid training mistakes, what the research shows about hybrid training and the interference effect, and lots more.
