Welcome back to the Player’s Club! This week, Emmett Watkins Jr and Allan Muir are back to talk about the absolute tear that Embracer Group has gone on. The company known for owning Gearbox, THQ Nordic, and most recently, the Tomb Raider, Thief, Deus Ex, and Legacy of Kain IP have recently acquired Tripwire Interactive, Tuxedo Labs, Limited Run Games, Singtrix, and all of the non-book rights to everything Lord of the Rings. It’s a staggering lot of purchases, and they all came in one go, not to mention the other purchases that can’t be announced yet or are too small comparatively. Al and Emmett sit down with this news, break down what this means, look at Embracer’s current holdings overall, and worry a lot about corporate mergers in general.

Also, in the Whatcha Playin segment, Al talks about their time with MLB The Show 2022 and Digimon Survive while Emmett talks about his time with the Fortnite X Dragon Ball Z crossover and Redeemer: Enhanced Edition.
