Geopolitics and trade with Punit Oza from Maritime NXT

Geopolitics and trade with Punit Oza from Maritime NXT

The impact of geopolitics and trade on shipping is in sharp focus with war in Ukraine, sanctions, and global political and trade tensions.

In a new monthly series the Seatrade Maritime Podcast will be examining these issues in depth with well renown maritime leader Punit Oza as a guest presenter.

Punit, recently struck out on his own with Maritime NXT, and has a career that has spanned dry bulk shipping, chartering, law, and technology, as well as passion for the intersection between the maritime industries and global trade, something he is passing to the younger generation through a teaching and mentoring.

Ahead of the new series Punit sat down with Seatrade Maritime News Editor Marcus Hand to discuss about why he sees geopolitics and trade as so important to shipping and take a look forward to the conversations ahead.

Listen to the conversation with Punit and Marcus to learn more about

  • How the tradeflow implications of geopolitical events are rarely highlighted
  • Whether traditional shipping analysis is too narrow, focused on heavily on demand and supply
