Episodes 43 – How We Were Parented Affects The Way We Parent

In our Check-In this week, Lorri shares with us a story that has been brought into focus in her life recently. Lorri tells us about her relationship with a friend from her childhood. Recently this person has passed. Within that relationship, Lorri ended up setting boundaries that caused a great distance between them. She is now dealing with her guilt about the boundaries that she set and her emotions and internal monologue about being a bad person.

Our Deep Dive this week, starts with a question from Edward. Through his experience and work, he noticed that many times the consequences he experienced did not fit the behavior or situation. Which begged the question “How did our traumatic upbringing affect the way people parent”. Lorri and Jason being parents share their stories about what it was like parenting with the abuse they had experienced.

The Off The Rails that we’ve all been waiting for! The return of Lorri’s Trippy Dreams! In This segment, Lorri tells us her dream that is somewhat recurring but also has some new elements. It starts out with tucking the presidents of our past into bed and reading them a story. Then Bill Clinton shows up and a wild ride unfolds.
