#142 - The Reality of Addiction, Getting the Help and Working Sober w/ Charlee Beckett
***TRIGGER WARNING: Mention of substance abuse*** Love this intimate conversation with FSSWer, Charlee Beckett. Charlee has dabbled in many forms of SW over the past decade and comes on the show this week to speak to us about her battle with substance addiction. She has had a long relationship with alcohol and various drugs throughout her late teens and adulthood. We speak about the parallels of the hospitality industry and SW and speak about how substances can be intertwined within our work. Charlee gets real with us on how she quit cold turkey and although she recognized that she desperately needed help, the throes of the reality of how drug and alcohol addiction in Vancouver proved the opposite effect. She wanted the help, but there was a waitlist. She wanted to stop using, but they recommended that she continue using until they were able to admit her. It's a rude awakening if you haven't heard of the opioid crisis in Vancouver, you'll hear about it on this episode. It's a eye-opening conversation that Charlee and I had and I hope you can learn a thing or two from the episode! Watch the video exclusive only on Patreon: patreon.com/strippedbysia PS. It's Charlee's birthday today so be sure to send her some love in the form of gifts or tips! https://allmylinks.com/expcharlee Don't forget to LIKE, SHARE, COMMENT, RATE, REVIEW and SUBSCRIBE! twitter.com/strippedbysia instagram.com/strippedbysia patreon.com/strippedbysia www.strippedbysia.com

#141 - The Legalization of Sex Work in Nevada: A Day in the Life of a Courtesan w/ Ariel Ganja
I can't believe it's taken me this long to record and episode on the legalization of sex work. I know that I advocate for the decriminalization of sex work, but I also think it is fair that we hear from those who are working in a legal capacity. That's why I was so excited when I got the opportunity to interview with Ariel Ganja, a legal courtesan based in the state of Nevada, in the USA. Ariel works at the famed Chicken Ranch just outside of Las Vegas which is a legal, licensed brothel. I was very curious and had SO many questions on what life was like at the Ranch. Ariel and I discuss everything under the sun from what her regular day-to-day looks like, room and board, what she is allowed to bring into the Ranch, how the line up works for clients, picking and choosing and of course, what her stance is on legalization vs. decriminalization. Ariel speaks freely on why legalization has worked for her and offers a unique insight on why this might be a good option for people. As always, I like to a provide a transparent approach to all facets of sex work, including the legal side of it, so I hope that you are able to consume this episode with an open mind and enjoy this conversation I had with Ariel as much as I did. #140 - When 2 Become 1: Working as a Couple in Sex Work w/ Rico and Chloe
It's going to be another threesome on the show this week. Rico and Chloe reached out to me wanting to speak about their unique proposition: offering their services as a complete unit. Both FSSWers, Rico and Chloe met on a whim and were curious about entertaining the idea of perhaps combining their services for a stellar offering: themselves. It's not something you always hear about. The dynamics and true chemistry that comes from a real-life couple brought to life in the bedroom, is something that you just can't mimic. I was curious to hear how they were able to operate together on incalls and outcalls and how they were able to still remain independent within their own lives and work. The concept of compartmentalization and having strong values is something that is instilled within their relationship. We also discuss the importance of role playing and the question of how much of yourself do you might give up in sex work, or, how much of your own personal self is embedded within your work? It's a loaded question and a loaded episode and I had just SO much fun chatting with them. Be sure to listen to the entire episode for some great insight within your own work, duo work or wanting to get into the industry. #139 - The Isolation, Loss and Sacrifice in Pregnancy and Sex Work w/ Jenna Elissa
Very excited to bring on my friend, fellow pole athlete and stripper, Jenna Elissa. Jenna and I have known each other for sometime and she was supposed to come on before the pandemic hit but she's finally here joining me on the show for a completely different topic: pregnancy. Jenna (at the time of recording) was 38 weeks pregnant, awaiting her first child. As a SWer, it can be both an exciting time in peoples' lives. Exciting to bring life to a little human but terrifying, because planning for income loss, FOMO, and the segregation can be completely isolating and a burden. Jenna opens up to us about managing her own expectations when it comes to her pregnancy journey, what methods she's had to partake in order to not feel anxious or have FOMO, and what she's looking forward to post-pregnancy. It's an intimate, raw and honest conversation that anyone who plans to have a child and go through pregnancy might need to hear. #138 - Non-Fungible Tokens: Is It the Future for SW? w/ Lorilee Fedler of Fantasy Digital
There has been so much interest in cryptocurrency, blockchain and decentralized systems and with our payments methods constantly being threatened by big financial processors, people have been seeking out alternative methods on how to get paid and other platforms that we can thrive on. Lorilee Fedler, the founder of Fantasy Digital, reached out to me to speak about her new company, a creator-specific platform powered by blockchain. We speak about what we can expect from the platform both as a client and as a creator, how it is structured to "give back" to its creators, and the incentives for all parties. We also discuss and explain in entry-level terms what a non-fungible token is and how Fantasy Digital is injecting more value behind their NFTs. A brief, yet needed discussion on ownership, anonymity and why this might be a viable option for SWers. Lastly, we discuss the monthly NFTease contest that Fantasy Digital is putting on and what that might entail. Of course, I'm no expert at this so I continually would encourage everyone to do their due diligence and conduct proper research before getting into this. #137 - Cutting Ties: Dealing with Getting Doxxed, Unhealthy Friendships and Toxic Family w/ Princess Snow Angel
We're in full swing for Season 5! This week, I am bringing on Princess Snow Angel, or Snowy as I like to call her. She is a cam model who shares her story of growing up in a small town, discovering the freedom of cam and the adult industry and how it got her out of there. Throughout her story, Snowy tells us how she was doxxed by a fellow family member, the borders and walls she's had to build up around her family and goes into some other toxic relationships she's had with friends and those around her. These situations, sadly, are not unique to those of us in the adult industry and can be quite commonplace. Although it's a sad reality that happens to many of us, it doesn't mean we should have to go through it alone. Snowy shares with us how she was able to cope, divulges in the support she had during that time, and, like an anthem, comforts us in the fact that life goes on and that we, as SWers, are a resilient bunch. Listen to this powerful episode with Snowy. Watch the video exclusive only on Patreon: patreon.com/strippedbysia I will also be hosting a STRIKE YOUR POSE, a free webinar with PS: Group on Thursday, October 7th at 2pm PST / 5pm EST to elevate your marketing game! #136 - The Politicization of Sex Work w/ Cathy Reisenwitz
Welcome to Season 5 of Stripped by SIA! Thank you so much for all of your support over the past 3 years - such an honour to be able to share the stories of so many sex workers. To kick off Season 5, I bring on writer, journalist, and sex worker, Cathy Reisenwitz, onto the show! Cathy is an esteemed writer and has written for TechCrunch, VICE, and the Daily Beast and the author of the newsletter, Sex and the State. Cathy joins me in speaking about how politics has shaped sex work and in turn, discusses the role that sex work has in the political sphere. Things like SESTA/FOSTA, as we know, largely affect sex workers and our wellbeing, and is something that came about due to political administration. We also discuss the the roley of journalists when reporting on sex work. Who is responsible here? Should we and how do we include more sex workers' voices so that they are more accurately represented? Such a riveting conversation from such a well-spoken guest! Listen in. It's been a long time coming but I finally have Bryan Knight's episode out! We waited a long 5 months to finally release this and I am so stoked for you to all join me on my learning journey when it comes to hypnosis and sex work. Bryan is a self-taught hypnotist who incorporates hypnosis into his sex work. Is it all a manipulative tactic? A get rich scheme? Does it have any healing benefits? Bryan and I divulge into these questions and he speaks about it in his own personal experience and is something that is now well-known for. We speak bout cults, clinical hypnotherapy and different hypnotic techniques that may be used with your own potential clients to to help with your own healing.
