Today we are in conversation with Mary Torrano

Mary Torrano is a dog training and behavior consultant in the United States, serving clients primarily in California and New Mexico. Mary has trained her own dogs for over 40 years and now professionally for 5 years. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), Fear Free certified trainer, American Kennel Club (AKC) trainer and evaluator, and holds a Masters degree in Physiology & Behavioral Biology.

Mary uses only humane, non-aversive, science-based methods. She specializes in helping people with fear, anxiety, reactivity, and aggression in their family dogs. Mary has participated in a variety of public dog activities and sports, including rally obedience, herding, scent-work, and emotional therapy. She offers private in-home consultations, a variety of group classes and events, consults with local dog shelters, and is available for online coaching.

With a life-long love of learning, Mary avidly pursues professional development and keeps current in learning theory literature. When she's not helping people help their dogs, she teaches hundreds of students in her online Anatomy & Physiology courses as a full-time college faculty member. Mary's family shares their home with 3 dogs: 8 yo Cairn Terrier "Stonnie", 7 yo Berger Picard "Lyra", and 4 yo Border Collie "Jasper".
