Jake Allen was acquired by the New Jersey Devils at the trade deadline. It seemed like the Montreal Canadiens were done with him which is why they retained 50% of his salary. He found new life with the Devils. One could make an argument that he and Jesper Bratt were the MVPs of the team. Because Allen was one of the main reasons why the Devils kept afloat in the Wild Card standings.
