In 2001, Robert Fisher and his wife Mary had been having marital problems. Robert’s parents divorced when he was young and he was adamant that his children, Brittney and Bobby, would not go through the same.

Robert was said to be controlling and abusive towards his family. He once turned a hose on his wife when she spoke ‘out of turn.’

Mary told friends in early 2001 that she was planning to leave Robert. Robert found out and it sent him over the edge. Police allege that Robert shot Mary in the back of the head and slit the throats of their children before rigging the home to explode by pulling the gas line.

Once the blaze was extinguished, Robert was nowhere to be found. 23 years later, Robert remains one of the most wanted men in America.

In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss the brutal murder of the Fisher family in Arizona and how the main suspect has eluded capture for over twenty years.

Justin ‘Ross’ Harris and his wife Leanna had been having marriage troubles for years.  They were trying to stick it out, despite Ross’ having numerous affairs.  The couple had one child together, Cooper.  In June 2014, Ross texted one of the women he had been seeing and said "I need an escape. I love my son and all but we both need an escape.” Later that day, Ross took Cooper to breakfast and was meant to drop him off to daycare.  After driving for a mile, Ross somehow forgot that Cooper was in his car seat.  Ross parked the car in direct sunlight, got out of the vehicle and went into work. Seven hours later, after internal temperatures in the car reached around 125f, Ross left work and drove off.  Minutes later, he realized what he had done.  Cooper was dead in his car seat. Ross was charged with malice murder, two counts of felony murder, cruelty to children in the first and second degree, criminal attempt to commit a felony and dissemination of harmful materials to minors.  Many of these charges stemmed from Ross’ inappropriate communications with underage females that he engaged in sexting with. Ross was convicted in 2016.  He was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole plus 32 years.   However, in 2024, Ross was released from prison.  A court ruled that there should have been separate trials for the murder charges and the sex-crime charges and his convictions were overturned. Read our blog for this case In the second case, we discuss the death of 4-month-old Tanna Rae Wroblewski.  Tanna Rae was allegedly left alone on a boat in 121f heat on the July 4th weekend this year.  Her parents were said to be swimming and cooling off.  When they returned to check Tanna Rae some time later, she was bleeding from the ears.  The baby was transported to hospital where she passed from heat-related conditions.  There is an investigation into the baby’s death ongoing. In this episode, we discuss three very different cases of disgraced influencers. At her peak, Kat Torres had over 1m followers on Instagram.  She was linked to celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio.   Following ‘life-coaching sessions’, Kat forced multiple women to engage in sex work and they were forced to give her thousands of dollars of their money.  Over 20 women have come forward and said that Kat preyed on them.  She has recently been sentenced to prison for human trafficking offences. Russian influencer Maxim Lyutyi wanted his newborn son to be ‘Superman’.  He refused medical treatment for the child and believed that the baby could survive on a ‘diet’ of berries and sunlight.  The baby only lived for one month and weighed 3.5lbs when he died.  Maxim is now imprisoned for his son’s death. Utah Mormon ‘MomTok’ influencer Taylor Frankie Paul has 4.4m followers on Tiktok and 360k on instagram.  After swinging and infidelity allegations, her marriage broke down in 2022.  By 2023, she was in a new relationship.  In February that year, police were called to her home by a neighbor.  While intoxicated, Taylor had allegedly assaulted her new partner.  During her rage, she threw a stool which struck her young daughter in the head.  Taylor has spoken about the events and said ‘As much as I wish that night had went differently, I felt like hitting rock bottom actually helped me in some ways. Made me seek help that I wasn’t getting.”  You can read our blog for these cases - https://truecrimesocietyblog.com/2024/07/24/disgraced-influencers/ In this episode, we also discuss updates in the Chris Watts and Wade Wilson murder cases. Wade Wilson killed two women during an insane crime spree

Timestamps: (7:54) - Karen Read Update (18:00) - Wade Wilson In October 2019, Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz each made innocent choices that would lead to the end of their lives. Kristine and a friend, Stephanie, went to a bar to listen to live music. At the venue, they met Wade Wilson. Stephanie described Wade as ‘friendly and charming.’ Kristine and Wade went back to Kristine’s where Wade strangled Kristine in her bed. He then stole her vehicle and fled the scene.  Later that day, while driving the stolen car, Wade approached Diane who was walking to work. He asked her for directions and he enticed her into the vehicle. He then beat and strangled Diane before pushing her out of the car and running her over until she looked like ‘spaghetti.’  Wade is now facing the death penalty for the murders and is due to be sentenced.   In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss Wade Wilson, known as the Cape Coral Strangler or the Deadpool Killer.    Read our blog for this episode. The Cheshire Murders | The Petit Family

Timestamps: (6:39) - Lauren Dickason Update (13:07) - The Cheshire Murders In July 2007, Jennifer Hawke-Petit and her 11-year-old daughter Michaela went to the grocery store to buy ingredients for a recipe Michaela wanted to make. There, they would cross paths with a man named Joshua Komisarjevsky who would follow them home to plan his next home invasion. That night, Joshua and his accomplice Hayes broke into the family's home and tortured them for hours. In the morning, they forced Jennifer to the bank to withdraw $15,000. Before leaving the bank, Jennifer was able to alert the teller who immediately called 911. Things came crumbling down when Joshua and Hayes realized Dr. William Petit escaped and crawled to a neighbor's home looking for help, despite his severe injuries. The men panicked and used gasoline to light the home ablaze while police set up a perimeter. Jennifer, Michaela and 17-year-old Hayley were all killed inside. Dr. William Petit was the lone survivor of the attack. Blog for this episode Check us out on Patreon for exclusive weekly episodes and ad-free content! (13:43) - Sibling Murders According to statistics from the Bureau of Justice, 72% of murders by siblings involved a brother killing a brother and 14% involved a brother killing a sister. In this episode of the True Crime Society Podcast, we discuss three cases of Sinister Siblings.   In May 2024, Angela Gosser killed her husband Larry and her sister Jennifer Wilson in Kentucky.  She also attempted to kill her brother Darryl before taking her own life.  The motive for these murders is still unclear.   Also in May 2024, Bethany Israel went to dinner at her brother Jack’s home.  Bethany was in her second trimester of pregnancy.  Family became concerned when Bethany did not return home.  Police were called and they found pieces of Bethany’s body on the front porch of neighboring houses.  It is believed Jack killed her because he thought she was ‘no longer innocent.’ Connor Young and his sister Amber had a tough start to life.  They were placed in foster care and Amber endured sexual abuse.  In 2021, the two siblings were seen on CCTV leaving a property.  Only Connor returned.  Amber’s body was found shortly after.  Connor would be arrested, but not before writing this post on social media: “Amber, you will fly high for the rest of time. We will all miss you. Especially me. I love you. GBFN (goodbye for now) X.” Read our blog for these cases  We are now on Patreon!  Thank you for your support <3
