Inspired by Tamara Lechner's article "How to reduce stress through positive thinking: 5 methods", I wanted to share some practical tools to help you thrive, not just survive, especially during the holiday season.

First off, let's talk about what positive thinking is and is NOT:

  • NOT about being happy all the time
  • NOT about avoiding negative emotions
  • NOT about ensuring nothing bad ever happens
  • NOT about pretending your life is perfect
  • IS acknowledging when things go wrong
  • IS adopting a growth mindset
  • IS confidence in your ability to remain calm amid chaos

The 5 methods include:

  1. Reframe
  2. Posting
  3. Mindfulness
  4. Growth or Benefit Mindset
  5. Self-Compassion

I've personally applied all 5 methods (and continued to do so) in my own life and can assure you they will help transform your own life as well......To help you thrive, not just survive, and roll into 2020 with positive momentum.
