The Great Age Reboot: Cracking the Longevity Code for a Younger Tomorrow

Believe it or not, living to 100, 120, or even 130 years old will become increasingly common over the next decade--and life past 100 may not be what you think. In his latest book, The Great Age Reboot: Cracking the Longevity Code for a Younger Tomorrow, best-selling author Dr. Mike Roizen explains how cutting-edge science and technology will revolutionize your ability to live longer, younger, and better.

With more than 40 years of experience as a medical doctor—certified in Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology, Dr. Roizen is the Chief Wellness Officer Emeritus of the Wellness Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, is a professor at the Lerner College of Medicine of the Cleveland Clinic at Case Western Reserve University, and developed the RealAge concept to motivate behavior change.

As evidenced in the global press, today's breakthroughs in longevity research are unprecedented. This will help you prepare for the next major social disruptor by making the best decisions for your brain, your body, and your bank account.

Dr. Roizen and one of his co-authors, acclaimed economist Albert Ratner, join Dr. Pam today to discuss the new book and illuminate the prevention, treatment, and technology that will reshape how we think about old age--and help us plan for an audacious future.

Improv Wisdom for Women: Don’t Prepare, Just Show Up

Improv Wisdom for Women: Don’t Prepare, Just Show Up

Let’s face it: Life is something we all makeup as we go along. No matter how carefully we formulate a “script,” it is bound to change when we interact with people with scripts of their own. Our guest's book, "Improv Wisdom"  shows us how to apply the maxims of improvisational theater to real-life challenges—whether it’s dealing with a demanding boss, a tired child, or one of life’s never-ending surprises. Patricia Ryan Madson distills thirty years of experience into thirteen simple strategies, including “Say Yes,” “Start Anywhere,” “Face the Facts,” and “Make Mistakes, Please,” helping readers to loosen up, think on their feet, and take on everything life has to offer with skill, chutzpah, and a sense of humor.Patricia is a professor Emerita from Stanford University where she began teaching in 1977. In the Drama Department, she served as the head of the undergraduate acting division and developed the improvisation program. She founded and coached the Stanford Improvisors and taught beginning and advanced-level courses in improvisation for undergraduates as well as adults in Stanford's Continuing Studies Program.

The Stress Prescription: 7 Days to More Joy and Ease

The Stress Prescription: 7 Days to More Joy and Ease

Are you holding your breath, even just slightly? Are you leaning forward, tensely anticipating the next problem to land in your email inbox? Most of us, without realizing it, hold our breath while we’re at our desks or at work. Take a moment now to lean back in your chair and take a few deep slow breaths. Shallow breathing while we’re responding to emails is just one of the many ways in which we’re unconsciously contributing to the stress response in our bodies.Personal and societal stress add up in our bodies every day. We wake up with it, carry it with us like heavy luggage, pile on more throughout our daily routines, and wrap ourselves in it as we fall asleep. Even if we are not aware of it. New York Times best-selling author Dr. Elissa Epel is back with a plan to turn stress into strength in her new book,  THE STRESS PRESCRIPTION: Seven Days to More Joy and Ease. As a leader in the fields of stress and biological aging, she is acutely aware of the ill effects of stresson our health. But her research also explores how we can transform our relationship to stress—how we can stress better, viewing stress as an exciting challenge rather than a threat, and how we can find true relief from feeling overwhelmed. Over the course of 7 days, THE STRESS PRESCRIPTION will transform our stressful lives into a more regenerative joy that helps us surf the daily challenges and experience deeper rest states.
