64. Taxes for entrepreneurs w/ @patton.accounting

I’m so excited to have Dawn Patton, an account for entrepreneurs, on the show today. Dawn shares how her accounting business started as a “happy accident” and how creating an Instagram account kick-started her success.

In today’s episode, we also talk all things taxes for entrepreneurs. There are so many intricacies to taxes and yet, entrepreneurs are rarely taught even the basics of accounting for their business. Dawn will share how different industries and goals can define what a business needs to do when looking at accounting, bookkeeping, and taxes.

Dawn will walk us through:

  • What tax planning is and how it can help in financial ways
  • Ways to save money on taxes
  • Why bookkeeping for your own business is so valuable to learn and how it can streamline so many areas of your business
  • What the biggest mistakes Dawn sees entrepreneurs making when doing taxes
  • Tax deduction ideas people often miss
  • Tools entrepreneurs can use to help themselves
