I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. About Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests
===============================
I have been reading tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Nine of Cups, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed.

The Nine of Cups upright is called the "wish card," symbolizing emotional satisfaction, contentment, and the fulfillment of desires. It represents a moment of personal achievement where things align, and joy is found in both material and emotional fulfillment.

When reversed, it suggests something is missing from this picture of happiness. You may have achieved specific goals but still feel unfulfilled, or you may be chasing desires that don't bring the true contentment you seek. The reversed Nine of Cups can point to hollow victories, where success didn't bring the happiness you expected. It's a reminder that sometimes what we wish for feels different than we thought, when we achieve it.

So what does that mean when we see the Nine of Cups reversed in a reading? When the Nine of Cups reversed appears in a reading, it's often a sign to reassess what true happiness means to you. This card encourages you to look at your achievement and determine what is missing for you. From there, determine if you really achieved the right goal. Maybe a pivot is in order. It also suggests that your expectations for happiness may not be realistic in this situation. You may be placing too much pressure on the goal, believing that once you achieve it, you'll be fulfilled.

The reversed Nine of Cups reminds you that happiness is a process and comes from how you feel, not necessarily the achievement itself. Gratitude is also a key to happiness. Always check in with feelings of gratitude for the things in your life that are going well and also for the lessons learned along the way.

So, how do you memorize this reversed meaning of the card? I find myself tying the card to a personal experience helps me remember it. For example, my reversed Nine of Cups moment was around a belief system I had when I was younger around my perfect partner. I was very much in love with someone I thought was my nine of cups. He was handsome, super funny, passionate, complimentary, and so much fun to be around. He was often the center of attention because of his charm. We were together for about four years, and with time, the nine of cups started to reverse. The things I loved about him were the same reasons he didn't want to settle down. He would tell me what I wanted to hear, but with time, he would leave me behind, for boys' nights out. Truthfully, he taught me one of my biggest lessons at the time. I know myself and other young women used to talk about our ideal person, not understanding the full spectrum that can come with our wish list. Once I dropped the list and focused on finding a good fit, things became much better for me.

Remember, the key to mastering tarot is practice. As you listen to these three-minute lessons, the cards' symbolism will become more ingrained in your memory. Thank you for tuning in. Keep practicing and join us for more three-minute lessons to memorize more cards. Your dedication will surely pay off.
