President Jimmy Carter will celebrate his 100th Birthday on October 1, and what better way to celebrate his humanitarian legacy than by providing hope and help for homeowners during an ongoing housing crisis?

On September 30, thousands of volunteers from around the world will gather in St. Paul, MN, to build 30 homes in just one week, as a part of the 40th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. Working alongside country music superstars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, volunteers will help construct sustainable, resilient, affordable housing in Twin Cities Habitat's largest-ever development.

A project of this scope can only succeed with the help of dedicated leaders and partners willing to jump in and help where needed – including at the build site.

On President Carter's Birthday, CONN speaks with Habitat for Humanity CEO Jonathan Reckford and Chris Coleman, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity to learn how the build is progressing and discuss how various organizations are coming together to help solve America's affordable housing crisis for as many families as possible.
