Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================
I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning tarot, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. About Carrie and @QuickLearnQuests
===============================
I have been reading tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Ten of Cups, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed.

The Ten of Cups upright is a card of emotional fulfillment, happiness, and harmony, particularly in family and relationships. It's about finding joy in deep emotional connections, achieving unity, and aligning with your ideal vision of happiness.

When reversed, it suggests that this emotional fulfillment may be out of reach or that there are unresolved relationship tensions. The reversed Ten of Cups often indicates a situation where you had high expectations for happiness. Still, things aren't turning out the way you envisioned. It can signal disharmony within a family or a relationship, disappointment in emotional connections, or unmet desires for the perfect life.

So what does that mean when we see the Ten of Cups reversed in a reading? When the Ten of Cups reversed appears in a reading, it's often a sign that you must address emotional discord. This card encourages you to face these challenges with honesty and compassion, working toward restoring harmony rather than maintaining unrealistic expectations. It may also suggest you feel disappointed by the gap between your ideal life and your current reality. The reversed Ten of Cups reminds you that perfection is an illusion, and it's important to find contentment in the small moments of joy and connection that exist, even when things aren't perfect.

So, how do you memorize this reversed meaning of the card? I find myself tying the card to a personal experience, which helps me remember it. For example, my reversed Ten of Cups moment was coming to terms with the illusion of perfection. In my e-commerce business, I felt this constant pressure that I wasn't doing enough. I wasn't doing well enough for the amount of effort I put into the business. What multiplied this feeling was that the people I networked with seemed to be doing much better than I was. They would speak of their successes and excitement for upcoming projects when I was feeling that I was barely breaking even. As I spent more time in some of these networking groups and became friends with some of the ladies, the truth came out through more heart-based conversations: they were just as afraid as I was. Some were doing better than me, and others were struggling because they didn't have a day job to keep the money coming in. I think of these realizations as Reversed Ten of Cups because of the gap between the expectations of my business and the reality that I did not have fair expectations of myself. They were an illusion I created in my head because my colleagues seemed to enjoy more success than I was. It was never a competition, and I was happy for them. However, it was my benchmark for success and wasn't entirely built on the truth. I stayed in my lane, kept working, and supported my new friends wherever possible. But I stopped comparing myself to others because it wasn't helping me benchmark where I was at. It was creating a feeling of not being enough in my own business.

This card reminds us that true emotional fulfillment requires honesty, realistic expectations, and a willingness to work through things quickly and on my terms.

Remember, the key to mastering tarot is practice. As you listen to these three-minute lessons, the cards' symbolism will become more ingrained in your memory. Thank you for tuning in.
