22. Rob Hayles on carbon jewellery, aerodynamics and bike industry guff

Rob Hayles is a winner of three Olympic medals, two World titles and countless national titles on the track long before it was cool and a British National Champion on the road who then retired for a spot in the commentary booth at BBC Radio Five Live and Eurosport.

He is also a man with magical hands who has long been involved in the mysterious world of carbon fibre technology and who owns his own bespoke carbon engineering and jewellery business, Carbon Concepts.

We talk to Rob about his love of carbon fibre, how he helped pioneer aerodynamics in the peloton, the horrors of riding for a French team in the early 2000s, why Bradley Wiggins always broke his bikes and how to make a wine bottle holder from a Campagnolo Super Record crank.
