First the PK, now the Dallas Stars Power Play is Struggling?!?!

The Dallas Stars Power Play is 2-for-15 since returning from the All-Star Break and now both sides of special teams are struggling. The Stars have been able to get away with their struggles in two of the three games due to great goaltending from Jake Oettinger, but it needs to fix in order to close games out. The Stars had four minutes of man advantage time late in Montreal and failed to convert while allowing two shorthanded breakaways that almost came back to bite them. Joey is hoping the Stars make changes to the top unit, such as taking Jamie Benn off the first unit, and adding Matt Duchene or Wyatt Johnston to it in hopes of unlocking some offense. The Stars power play is still around league average, but for a team that was top 5 a year ago, it's important for them to be firing on all cylinders down the stretch. Tyler Seguin, Duchene and Mason Marchment have become the new top line for the Stars. Not only have they been the most consistent and productive of all the trios. They are the one line that has not been changed throughout the season. All three are going to end up with 20 plus goals this season, and a lot of the success has to be contributed to Duchene and what he provides. Finally, Joey looks at the current standings which includes the Stars as one of four teams to have 70 points at this point in the season. They are top 5 in the NHL with a chance to expand their lead in the Central Division as the near the trade deadline.
