Surfing Lesson 193: Staying Connected To The Wave...

NO ONE CAN HEAR MY WORDS UNTIL THEY CAN HEAR MY HEART! Surfing the face of a wave, I want to show myself and the whole world how amazing I am by laying into a nice gouging carve. And when I get too excited seeing an open face and try to carve away without adequate connection to the source of the wave, I will bog down, sink, lose speed, get left behind, fall... basically anything except surf smoothly through the turn. But if I stay connected to the pocket of the wave, I can literally move buckets of water through the air with the bottom of my board and come out of the turn with even MORE power and speed! And this is exactly what I face again and again as I try to get Luci to hear and understand me... And my kids to understand me... And all of the world to hear me... Even GOD himself to hear me! We want to help others and create massive value them while being seen for who we truly are. Yet without creating and maintaining adequate connection, our words and "love" fall on deaf ears and closed hearts. Worse yet, they feel judged and even judge us. And then you and I are stuck with our heads in our hands thinking that we're only trying to be the best husband, father, man that we can be – Why is this SO difficult!
