Burned out: the nursing workforce in crisis

As the profession experiences unprecedented and widespread burnout, how do we address the nursing shortage which is at its core? The Independent’s health correspondent Shaun Lintern tells us why quick fixes and a lack of strategy are storing up a crisis in the workforce. He explains what the Mid Staffs scandal can tell us about today’s unfolding staffing emergency. And how can we get more positive images of the profession into a “nurse-averse” media?
