Psychopath in Your Life -Podcast Show Notes- Episode 012 Summary: In Episode 012, Dianne talks about how psychopath harm the victims by the of use Gaslighting (a form of mental abuse). The word Gaslighting was first used in a play in the 1938 version. A movie about Gaslighting was released in 1945. The term Gaslighting comes from the psychopath flickering the lights and dimming the lights used at that time. Gaslighting starts out very slowly and increases over time. The end goal is to get the victim to start to question their sanity. Typically victims start to believe they are in fact crazy because the Gaslighting is so hard to detect. Psychopaths were interviewed in Dianne’s book about Gaslighting. Dianne shares an example from her book, Psychopaths in Our Lives Much to the surprise the psychopaths had never heard the term but considered it a key element in how they abuse victims.
