TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Watford 2 - 0 Blackpool - Part Two
PART TWO More fan reaction after the 2-0 Blackpool triumph that saw the most poignant goal of the season scored in the most poignant moment of the season as 17 year old Tobi Adeyemo put Watford a goal up on the 72nd minute - the very minute we celebrate the life of the greatest individual the club has ever known - Mr. Graham Taylor. Apologies to Mal and Alex but the signal/car noise wasn't great so had to (begrudgingly) not include your calls - do go to the Twitter Space recording for those. COYH!!! TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Watford 2 - 0 Blackpool - Part One
PART ONE Everything a Hornet could want from a game of football. Graham Taylor match day - tick. Gianluca Vialli tribute - tick. Decimated squad still - tick. Choudhury back in midfield - tick. Youth players in the squad - tick. Tactical plus personnel change at half time - tick. 17 year old scores on debut on the 72nd minute - tick. Sarr scores penalty - tick. Referee is still a twat and then some - tick tick tickety tick! Loads to unpack - loads to chat about - Pete tries to get everyone to work out who was man of the match and he completely fails to get a consensus as most people had a really good game, Bayo's slow walk to freedom doesn't go down well when being subbed - but calm voices remind us that he tried, He scored against Norwich and he was probably disappointed at being taken off - but still. The story of the day though is 17 year old Tobi Adeyemo scoring on his league debut and a host of young players doing well. Cathcart is outstanding, people are asking if Kamara can walk back into the starting 11 after James Morris continues to improve, Kone in midfield gives us tempo and progressive passing, Sarr is running with the ball again AND we had a tricky Brazilian winger make his debut and get involved in the two goals - like we said a lot to unpack and this is just part one!! The Opposition View - Blackpool (Home)
Here is the Opposition View with Blackpool – well sort of…. Pete asked for the tale of the Oyston family ownership and what followed was, depending on your position, a cautionary tale about ensuring club ownership is not allowed to operate unchecked or the biggest "be careful what you wish for" - or very possibly both. There's also a succession of nonsense per normal including what Bloomfield Road and IKEA have in common! Plus, we find out what Pete would bring to the midfield in the event of having to play and Carl tells us a lot about concrete DNSYE is part of the TalkSPORT fan network. DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR EYES - Memories of Graham
On the eve of the 6th anniversary of his passing we wanted to put together just some of the memories of Graham that were told to us during player interviews (there are an awful lot more scattered over the interviews we've done) where players remember things about the great man from first impressions through to why it was so important that he was nice to Alan Smart (on a completely human level who was fretting) over his possible transfer to the Hornets. Some people won't remember but in one of his programme notes he responded to a fan who had shouted out "Sort it out Taylor!" (or words to that effect) - his notes were that he had been at the club for a while and that surely we should all be on first name terms - so here are some memories of Graham. Best wishes to his family - always. COYH! DNSYE is part of the TalkSPORT fan network. This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Reading 2 - 0 Watford FA Cup 3rd Round
With the squad decimated with injuries an incredibly young squad travelled down the M4 to take on the Royals. A goal at the end of each half settled it leaving questions about Okoye in goal but few questioned the young players effort or determination. Also on show was another youngster making his debut in Ishmael Kone transferred in from Canada and once again the reviews are mainly positive in reference to him. Also discussed was an interview with Ben Manga which appeared in Kicker Magazine and this might prove far more important moving than exiting this seasons FA Cup. Some normal nonsense ensued as Twitter crashed midway through, Justin kept asking about the food kiosks, Pete was very pleased with his IKEA joke and Carl was determined to let everyone know that after last weeks "Wedging" incident - that he had got free of this weeks car park! DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR EYES - TRANSFER WINDOW & FA CUP PREVIEW
Carl, Justin and Peter get together to discuss the transfer window in light of the injury crisis which sees the Hornets with a pretty strong squad residing in the physio room currently. Going through some of the rumours and some players on a Championship wish list at no point do they allow their lack of knowledge get in the way of their opinions! They cast their eyes to the FA Cup this weekend which sees the men travel to Reading on Saturday and the Women at Crystal Palace on Sunday and we ask has the sparkle gone off the FA Cup? TWITTER SPACE FAN REACTION - Norwich City 0 - 1 Watford
All the fan reaction to everything that the Millwall and Swansea performances were not, without a recognised first team midfielder in the squad the much maligned Gaspar and Bacuna worked really hard in the centre and Gaspar especially was a revelation. 3 at the back worked much better and a breakaway goal caps off a truly professional, hard working away performance and takes 3 points. However the injuries keep racking up and discuss the recurrent hamstring injuries, the other injuries and the suspensions and we all know we cant get carried away but most of all we focus on the warm glow of seeing a Watford side go out and put in a shift, show some character and we say well done to Slaven, the team and the away support that started 2023 in magnificent form! Well done all. COYH! This Podcast has been created and uploaded by Do Not Scratch Your Eyes. The views in this Podcast are not necessarily the views of talkSPORT Hosted on Acast.
