The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Get out and Vote!

The Everyday Sniper Podcast: Get out and Vote!

The day before one of the most important elections in our nations history. Get out and vote if you have not done so already, it's super important. I want to make sure I don't overlook this request, vote.

But in this podcast I am also live on HideTV.

I wanted to practice simulcasting the Podcast with the Hide TV channels.

But I follow up with some more Major Land discussion. I want to talk packs and managing your gear. Gear management is huge, doesn't matter, military, law enforcement, hunters and competition shooters all need to manage their gear correctly. In this case, context matters.

I am thinking about going modular with gear management. I think the time is right to focus on how we carry our equipment. We'll be addressing this over the next couple of months.

Thanks for listening thanks for sharing, thanks for being a part of the everyday sniper podcast.

How do you manage your carry, how are you carrying your rifle, your bags, your ammo ?

During this off season take a look at your data management as well as gear management

The Everyday Sniper Episode 9 G Curve Rant

The Everyday Sniper Episode 9 G Curve Rant

The Everyday Sniper Episode #9 G Curve Rant  I get it, many new shooters have been conditioned to think G7 is the only Curve to use with software.  The truth is, there are a lot more variables that go into successfully predicting the shot.  We have a lot of history and a lot more better numbers using G1 and it works.  I don't default to a specific drag model, I let the real world results speak for themselves. If G7 is better I use, but 50% of the time it's not.  I also tend to turn off all the extra factors added in like SD and CE. I keep that stuff off because I dope the rifle first and line up the computer after. In a word, it's all in there.  Just me venting, all fun, and hopefully informative.

The Everyday Sniper Episode 8 Mils vs MOA Rant

The Everyday Sniper Episode 8 Mils vs MOA Rant

The Everyday Sniper Episode 8 Mils vs MOA Rant  Both Mils and MOA are an Angle. They were intended to operate as angles and while all angles have linear equivalents, when it comes to shooting there is no reason to use the linear value. We have moved beyond needing to figure the straight line distance. They were always meant to work as an Angle, so we need to think in those terms. This question comes up just about weekly on the forum. Someone reads about people switching to mils or they see something on TV about Marines using Mils and the question is asked: Should I switch to Mils ? Once that question is launched you get the alphabet of answers. Everyone thinks they have the right reason why you should switch and yes, there are some very valid reasons to move from a mixed system or from MOAs to Mils, but cutting through the noise is not that easy. There is a lot of misinformation out there, that Mils are metric and you have to start shooting in meters. Or people will say, “but I think in inches” so they feel they have to use MOA. Neither of these are correct, and trust me when I say, 75% of those answering don’t understand what they read to begin with. Some of it is flat out wrong, the rest is really not relevant to shooting. The term, “technically correct” is used a lot
