Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Podcast Season 2, Episode 52 — Bayern Munich’s potential pitfalls in pursuing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane; Transfer rumors on Mané, Sabitzer, and MORE!

While Bayern Munich is expected to have an impactful summer transfer window, this period feels like the calm before the storm.Konrad Laimer and Raphael Guerreiro are signed, sealed, and delivered, while Kim Min-jae is expected to follow suit quickly (potentially by the time you read this!). Otherwise, there is A LOT of rumbling, but not much action otherwise for the Bavarians. As it stands, this seems like a good time to take a step back and look at the big picture of what is going on — including the BPW staff earning another award (thanks to all of you!). Let’s get to it: Some thoughts on BPW nailing down another “Best Club Podcast” Award from World Soccer Talk. Where things stand on Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Harry Kane — and why there are reasons to feel both optimistic and pessimistic. Plus, the new pecking order of things should Kane opt to stay put in London. Addressing the bizarre situations with Noussair Mazraoui, Ryan Gravenberch, Marcel Sabitzer, and Sadio Mane. Why the Leon Goretzka situation is likely coming to a head soon enough. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Bayern Munich seems to have its hands in just about everything right now when it comes to the summer transfer window. The Bavarians are expected to be contenders for multiple players on the market in what could prove to be a make or break transfer window for Thomas Tuchel — and the club itself. Let’s get to it! This is what we have on tap for this week’s episode: The breakdown on what is going on with Bayern Munich’s rumored pursuit of Harry Kane. Bayern Munich has been consistently linked to Federico Chiesa, but what would need to happen for a move to go through and be successful. Thomas Tuchel at odds with bosses over need for defensive midfielder? Bayern Munich bosses frustrated with Alphonso Davies? Bayern Munich’s center-back corps appears to be set. Is it good enough to win a Champions League title? An ode to cargo shorts. Bavarian Podcast Works S5E51: Reviewing the Laimer & Guerreiro signings, previewing Bayern Munich’s back line, and looking ahead to further transfer business

Bavarian Podcast Works S5E51: Reviewing the Laimer & Guerreiro signings, previewing Bayern Munich’s back line, and looking ahead to further transfer business

Even without a current sporting director in the wake of Hasan Salihamidzic getting fired alongside Oliver Kahn, Bayern Munich has already made two summer signings in Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig and Raphael Guerreiro from Borussia Dortmund. The latter was essentially completed during the winter time, but it’s now official and Thomas Tuchel still wants to bring in Kim Min-jae from SSC Napoli since Lucas Hernandez will be leaving for Paris Saint-Germain as well as a top-class striker. Plenty of names have been linked with Bayern as far as who their new striker could be including Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Randal Kolo Muani and Duscan Vlahovic, but the clock is ticking for Tuchel and Bayern. It will be a tough season if they once again don’t have a clear-cut, number 9 striker, and from the offset, Tuchel has identified this as a point of emphasis for this summer’s transfer window. By stark contrast, given the fact that Declan Rice has chosen to stay in the Premier League by virtue of joining either Arsenal or Manchester City, Tuchel is no longer prioritizing the signature of a number 6, defensive midfielder. There’s also been reports that Bayern is set to re-hire former goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic, who was fired by Julian Nagelsmann, Kahn, Brazzo and the rest of Bayern’s board just days after Yann Sommer had begun training with the club after joining from Borussia Monchengladbach. His return won’t spell good news for Alexander Nubel, who’s previously vented his frustration for what he referred to as favoritism from Tapalovic towards Manuel Neuer in training sessions. In this flagship episode of Bavarian Podcast Works, Tom and Rayyan (known on the site as CCyler) discuss: The two signings; Laimer & Guerreiro Can Laimer play as a number 6, or is that not his strong suit? Where Guerreiro will best fit in the squad, tactically speaking Kim Min-jae’s expected arrival from SSC Napoli to replace Lucas Hernandez Will Tuchel start to use a back three system more often? Bayern’s plethora of center-backs vs. wide backs All of the strikers linked with Bayern Realistic percentage chances Harry Kane will leave Tottenham for Bayern Bayern’s goalkeeping situation with Tapalovic set to return Learn more about your ad choices. Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Podcast Season 2, Episode 50 — Wrapping up Germany’s performance and what the XI could look like for the Euros; Bayern Munich’s latest transfer news; and MORE!

It has been a wild week at BFW. Germany is floundering. Bayern Munich looks like it will struggle to get world class, impact players for the key positions that it needs. Most of us are perplexed at the thought of how any of this will work out, but hey, if talking about this helps us all sort through things, let’s get to it with the latest episode of the Weekend Warm-up Podcast: Lamenting the state of the German national team, Hansi Flick’s failures, and what a starting XI might look like for the Euro 2024 — and why the best lineup probably won’t ever get featured. Checking in on Bayern Munich’s latest transfer rumors, including the club’s persistent approach to staying in the game for Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane. Learn more about your ad choices. Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Germany 0-2 Colombia (International Friendly — RANT EDITION)

When does Bayern Munich re-start again? That was...terrible. Germany looked aimless and lacked energy and got the result that it deserved in a 2-0 loss to Colombia. The game looked like it mattered to the Colombians, while the Germans ambled around hoping that something good would happen (Hint: Nothing good happened). Let’s find out if you are as bitter as me! As Stringer Bell once told Brother Mouzone and Omar Little, let’s “get on with it”: A look at the starting lineup and a breakdown of the scoring. Where is the pride on this German team? Colombia was energetic, brash, and talking junk...and Germany withered under the stress of it all. Nothing is good...not the attack, nor the midfield, nor the defense. They are all terrible right now. Hansi Flick is assuredly in some danger. Where does it go from here? And why the players need to take some heat as well. Bavarian Podcast Works S5E50: Should Germany sack Hansi Flick? + Bayern Munich missing out on (and landing) transfer targets

With all the Bayern Munich action confined to the transfer window for now, it’s time to shift gears and talk a little bit more about Germany and their recent failures on the pitch. Hansi Flick is currently reeling from a couple of dismal results vs Ukraine and Poland which has everyone reconsidering the idea of having him coach at the Euros. On the Bayern end of things, Napoli’s Kim Min-jae is set to become the club’s latest defender signing while Kai Havertz slips out of the bosses hands and into the arms of Chelsea. Lots to talk about right now. Meanwhile, Bavarian Podcast Works has been nominated for the 2023 edition of the World Soccer Talk — Best Club Podcast Award. Click on that link and go vote for us!In this episode, INNN and Chuck talk about the following: Is Hansi Flick on the chopping block at the German national team? Should he be? Is it just a question of talent? Or could the coach do better? INNN chimes in with some Thomas Muller propaganda (because why not?). Julian Nagelsmann as Germany coach — WHAT IF? Is Hansi Flick mishandling Niklas Sule? Would you be surprised if Hansi Flick were sacked at this stage? Shifting gears to the transfer talk — is Kim Min-jae a good transfer for Bayern Munich? Kyle Walker to Bayern — is that a good idea? Why Thomas Tuchel maybe shouldn’t be given too many options on the transfer market. Why is Bayern Munich so hesitant to secure a striker? How Choupo-Moting could end up being a starter next season. Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany. Bavarian Podcast Works: Postgame Show — Poland 1-0 Germany (International Friendly)

If the confidence of the Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund personnel in the Germany team wasn’t already low considering how the Bundesliga ended, Germany’s latest result did them no favors. In this podcast, Rayyan and Samrin discuss: The gap between Thilo Kehrer and Jonas Hofmann in the first half Rayyan’s deeper look at Germany’s setup today How Joshua Kimmich is impacted when Germany’s back three is narrow Whether Kimmich fits better in a back three or back four What Kimmich’s best position is for Germany Some headscratchers such as Kai Havertz up front Another headscratcher in Niklas Füllkrug’s exclusion from the start Some regrets from the World Cup, especially in line-up decisions Is Hansi Flick’s job safe? What does Thilo Kehrer add to this team? Are there any answers to Germany’s fullback problems? The confusion in midfield with a focus on Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz and later, Leroy Sané Is Julian Nagelsmann an option for Germany? Is he the answer for Germany much like Flick was for Bayern?Be sure to stay tuned to Bavarian Podcast Works for all of your up to date coverage on Bayern Munich and Germany.
