I asked for your Coronavirus related questions on Instagram and in this podcast I try and answer some of them. I’m not claiming to be an expert but if my words help you in one way or another, whether they give you some comfort, or challenge your current thinking, then I'm glad I recorded this episode. Some questions I delve into are...Are you worried about the days ahead?I feel overwhelmed, what can I do to help myself?Do you think everything will go back to normal when this is over? Remember, you are braver than you think, stronger than you can imagine and loved more than you know.Stay safe. Michael Healy-Rae : Carpe Diem

Michael Healy-Rae : Carpe Diem

My guest this week is politician and Kerryman, Michael Healy-Rae.We sat down to have a chat many months ago now but I think his philosophy on life is certainly something we could do with a generous injection of, particularly at the moment. He’s married to Eileen and they have five children and in this conversation we talk about many things; his recovery from an accident in his twenties, his parents, why he doesn’t sleep too much and how happiness can be cultivated.I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian : A New Chapter awaits

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian : A New Chapter awaits

Brian and Arthur are my wonderful guests this week.Brian has already had a hugely successful career in television over the past two decades. He went from being a flight attendant to winning Big Brother, the biggest reality TV show of the time, in 2001. And since then he’s presented a whole host of high profile TV shows mainly in the UK but also here in Ireland. His husband Arthur, a proud Armenian; is a world class choreographer and creative director, who has worked artists like…Beyonce, Girls Aloud, Kylie, The Pussycat dolls…to name but a few! They’ve both felt the deep pain of losing a parent. Arthur’s Dad died when he was 16 and Brian’s Mum passed away suddenly, only 2 years ago.We sat down to have a chat in January, a few shows into the most recent season of Dancing with the Stars on RTE and in this conversation, Brian gives us a beautiful insight into his Mum Rosie; they talk about the importance of setting boundaries and finding balance, their relationship and also their plans to have a family. They have such a beautiful perspective on life and I think it's obvious when you hear this that I’m mad about them both. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Richie Sadlier : Making peace with the past, dating as a non-drinker and being happier than ever

Richie Sadlier : Making peace with the past, dating as a non-drinker and being happier than ever

This conversation is with former Irish soccer player, pundit, psychotherapist, podcaster and now author Richie Sadlier.2019 has been a big year for him; he got married, he completed his masters in adolescent psychotherapy and he finished writing his autobiography ‘Recovering’.In the lead up to the books release, he appeared on The Late Late Show and revealed he had been sexually abused when he was 14 by a physio he has been attending, for back pain. ‘Recovering’ is genuine, raw and in my opinion, a masterclass in stepping away from shame and taking your power back. He’s been a non-drinker for 8 years and is in a great place in his life.In our chat, he shares how he met his wife Fiona, he talks about his relationship with his Dad, his experience of alcoholism and his new found love of sea swimming.Triggers : references to alcoholism, sexual abuse. If you need to talk to someone, you can contact a SamaritanFreephone 116 123or email jo@samaritans.ie Hosted on Acast.
